Care to explain why? I moved them up because I thought they were participating with the discussion after Durga claimed, but on review this is more true for Balki than Fluminator. I must have had another reason for moving Fluminator higher, but I do not remember what is was. In any case, Fluminator may be my top scum read now.kgray wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 5:18 pm
This is so weird to me. I've never seen bozo make a POE argument before? And he's townreading Balki/Flum based on non-VCA reasons?
What was townie about their responses? What are your strong reasons for townreading other poeple that moved damo/bona/Chaqa down on your list?
Did you forget that Flum voted for teacon...?
I also never said I had "strong reasons" for town reading anyone.
Do you think Fluminator voting for teacon should cause me to town read him or scum read him? I pointed out why I think that could have been a bus.
I can see Flum's vote for teacon as either alignment. I think HR's vote looks more like a bus, though.

I think either:Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:23 pmThe more I look at this, the more it bothers me about why Bunny lied about who he visited.
As a smuggler, sure, there's an excellent reason not to tell the truth (if you're guilty you give away your teammates). But Bunny was the blackmailer. He visited EMC and Someone. He knew if he was guiltied then one of those would be cleared anyway. Why bother lying? What on earth is the motivation to risk not being able to fish the jailer out?
a) Scum decided to all lie to avoid giving us information. We all answered, which was probably enough to narrow the jailer down some, and any scum's truthful answers are going to give us townclears or confirmed scum anyway. Real scum visits were also likely to look weirder than townies listing their townreads. I actually thought this was the best strategy while we were doing it.
b) The coordinator wasn't actively telling Bunny what to do, and he panicked. I doubt there's no coordinator because we have max town PRs, so this would point to someone like Yoyo or Chaqa.

I feel like the argument that Balki would be much more active as scum overlooks the possibility that Balki might not be that active because he actually has other things to do in life

Possibly, but if the scum were all lying, is that not an excellent opportunity for the blackmailer to claim they visited a teammate?ghug wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:31 pmI think either:Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:23 pmThe more I look at this, the more it bothers me about why Bunny lied about who he visited.

Of course it is, but I still really struggle to see the point of lying without trying to make teammates look good (or in the smuggler's case, townies look bad).ghug wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:38 pmThat's pure WIFOM.Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:33 pmPossibly, but if the scum were all lying, is that not an excellent opportunity for the blackmailer to claim they visited a teammate?ghug wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:31 pm

If all the scum lied then they guaranteed that whichever one was the 'guilty' would be confscum, and that they wouldn't be able to fish the jailer (lucky for them the jailer decided to out themselves anyway). I don't see how that's a good move, at all

Lying was sacrificing one of the visiting PRs. You're making this godawful argument to me specifically, which is interesting because I am one of his two jail claims and I strongly townread the other. Are you trying to push me to whoever he said he actually visited N2 once he was caught lying, or what?

Bunny lied. It seems very unlikely the smuggler told us the truth. Jamie was caught, so what he said is irrelevant. Nobody said they visited Neph except for Jamie, so if someone else did that kill, they lied too.Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:47 pmIf all the scum lied then they guaranteed that whichever one was the 'guilty' would be confscum, and that they wouldn't be able to fish the jailer (lucky for them the jailer decided to out themselves anyway). No, I haven't been townreading her for quite a while, but the list of hypo-jails being brought back up reminded me of how Bunny got caught and it still feels idiotic to me.ghug wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:53 pmBecause of this specifically?Hellenic Riot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:52 pmI don't townread kgray anymoreghug wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 8:50 pm

Admittedly the scum sent the RB'er to do the kill and didn't RB the outed tracker, so they're already doing 4D Chess beyond my comprehension, but it still bothers me why you'd risk lying unless you can try to get something else out of it.
