WHO DO YOU CLAIM HAVE INNOCENT SCANS ON?
There's no benefit to keeping this information a secret, since scum already know who is town and there's an outside chance you'd have scanned the GodFather.

Okay clever boy, you tell me why Maniac claimed Cop, under not much pressure, with only two votes on him, and didn't tell us who he had scanned?rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:52 pmJamiet, you are better then this......Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:17 pm@Maniac:

Explain it to me please.

I really dislike this post from Ghug.
He tried to save Vecna every way, voted me, HR and Gold and only jump to Vecna when it´s done.

Because it´s Maniac, he could have made a bad play or he could be lying town or lying scum. I can´t say which one but this will probably be sorted one way or another.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:57 pmOkay clever boy, you tell me why Maniac claimed Cop, under not much pressure, with only two votes on him, and didn't tell us who he had scanned?rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:52 pmJamiet, you are better then this......Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:17 pm@Maniac:

Suppose he is town. He could be Cop or not. Scum lost his RBer, which is huge because they can´t just RB the claimant and hope town DK him, which is one of the reasons I suspect anyone trying to save Vecna. So, scum has to dedide if Maniac is real cop or not. Don´t you think giving scan results now will help scum to identify this? So, the right play is to give scan results at EON.

As long as Maniac does post his shit at EoN before he gets fucking killed.
I got lucky on Vecna. I fully bought into Jamie’s case, then oh ray reinforced it. You both wavering from your gut reads made me sad.

I would own a Corgi, but a dog in an apartment with no room to run is inhumane imo.

You’re making this too easy for me now.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:33 pmThey sort of do, where they say that they "used a custom-developed texting application that collected participants’ text messages over 7 days, asking at send time whether each outgoing message was deceptive."damo666 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:16 pm2. I've skimmed this and never seen such tripe in my life. Nowhere do they say how they determine what is true and what is a lie so the whole basis falls over. And 0.35% is significant because it's 0.35% of a big number, WHAT?
Those people want to go get a proper job.
Is Cornell that bad?
So in other words they asked their subjects to self-identify, on a message-by-message basis, whether they were lying.
Even if this is a sound methodology (which I don't think it is), I don't think Maniac's work here sound at all - there are a number of flaws:
1. Maniac categorises Fluminator as a "truth teller". This is not correct. Fluminator was Town, yes, but he also told a series of lies during D1, which he himself admitted later in the phase, when pressured.
2. Linked to (1), just because someone is Town, in this game, does not mean that every statement they make is 100% truthful, and just because someone is Mafia does not mean every statement they make will be a lie. For example, when I am Mafia, I commonly try to tell as few lies as possible. It's why I like to bus, because I can pick a team-mate and truthfully accuse them of stuff.
3. The research Maniac cited looks specifically at people communicating via text message. Text messages are, by their nature, quite short. We do not play Mafia by text message. Most of us post from our computers and have time to compose longer messages using a full keyboard. This is sufficiently different from sending an SMS that I am not convinced the same methodology can be usefully applied.
4. It's obviously just a load of crap to make it superficially look like Maniac is doing something.
