Hmmm kinda weird to log into webdip of all things on your friends phone.

Fake story or not, hopefully you had fun last night.

Interesting.

On the one hand I would commend Lamp's dedication to borrow his friend's electronic device just so he could participate.

But on the other hand apparently he was surprised, when he did that, to find that the game had begun.

Hmm.

I find the entire story to be questionable. He appears to be seemingly aware of 12 pages of content enough to know which shit posters overdid it, and which shitposters are will within their shitposting ranges by alignment. He focused exclusively only on speaking with Sabi for some reason. And reiterating what you pointed out was if he didnt know the game was this weekend why was he desperate to log into his friends phone to check the game.

the full story and context is that i was out last night with a friend at a drag show and then we took a lyft to a different bar. in said lyft the driver was an evangelist trying to convert us to christianity and i listened to her but challenged her by saying my friend and i were both gay. i asked her opinion on that. she said she believed we could change, i said we couldnt. this exchange is still positive, not combative. as shes dropping us off she asks to pray for us, so we all hold hands in this lyft and she prays for us to keep our hearts open to jesus christ. at the time of the group prayer i mustve put my phone down and forgotten to pick it back up before i exit the GodLyft. also somehow lost my keys during this process.

so as we enter the bar i realize im missing my phone and keys and break down. we uber back using my friend's phone to her apartment. upon getting back to her place she starts throwing up from alcohol. eventually she gives me her phone so that i can report the stuff missing to lyft. she passes out. it's at this time that i realize i have two factor authorization on literally every account i own so i cant access anything. i fall asleep. i wake up at like 7:30 am and try to get into stuff again to no success. i listen to a bit of an audiobook. i remember that this site exists and log in (and it is honestly relieving to be able to log in to any account of my own lol) and see the game started, and skim the thread bc i have nowhere to go and nothing to do. also for more context im dying of allergies bc my friend has a cat and i am allergic.

im home now bc i was able to get in touch with my friend who has my spare keys. still need to figure out how to acquire phone

tl;dr me being on my friends phone is of necessity not because of like, a strong desire to play and contribute. me reading while hungover is because i needed to pass the time somehow. it's been a wild 12 hours

it’s more nuanced than this so let’s be very clear because I, at least, am NOT sussing, pressuring, or criticizing Sabi for apparently putting in effort.

it’s that:
(1) nothing Sabi is allegedly doing to hunt is actually going anywhere. I meant what I said about defining “anti-town” as “things I don’t like.” there’s just no process that has any hope of catching mafia better than random chance. and none of it is outside Sabi’s range as mafia.
(2) Sabi seems hellbent on starting and escalating shit with Jamie for no discernible pro-town reason. whether it’s strictly personal or a pro-mafia play is TBD. but it’s not pro-town.

I think Sabi trying isn’t a problem and am a bit concerned if people are using such superficial observations to press Sabi

Well people (brainbomb and Bona specifically) are using these superficial reasons to press on me. It's probably best for town just to kill me off day one so they can focus on scum hunting for the rest of the game because nothing I do this game will change Bona and Brainbomb read on me. I'm a town liability at this point.

2) it's purely personal reasons so I'm just going to ignore Jamiet posts for the rest of the real life day so I don't let my annoyance with him ruin this game further for everyone.

At no point in your emotional rants are you ever detailing your progression of your reads on me. Or saying at all why I am suddenly not scum, in fact im town who is ruining town and it would be for the best for me to lead town to kill you so town can instead focus on getting scum later.

At least if you take the martyr aspect out of your play itll be easier to read and you wont have to spew out your role for everyone to see and have to tell everyone about how dumb they are.

because pressuring people is how you figure out their alignment. I’m puzzled by this question; do you think I shouldn’t be pressuring people? what else would you do in that situation and why? (alternatively, if you think I should be pressuring people, why ask?)

Why do you townlean Jamiet when he’s being the worst part of this game and his actions scream someone who rather piss people off than play mafia?

(1) “worst part of this game” is an entirely subjective judgment on your part. I haven’t felt like he’s meaningfully been a problem.
(2) he’s made a couple of comments now that look to me like a townie who’s had a full evening at the pub and is now trying to solve the game late at night. his question toward you that I highlighted, and now his “performative” comment toward me (with which I disagree, but which I think comes from a townie mindset). it’s all minor stuff and doesn’t hold a lot of weight but again, gotta start somewhere.
(3) why do you think that any of that behavior is suspicious? it makes sense to believe that it’s hurting town (I don’t agree with that assessment, but it’s a fair one to make I think), but townies hurt town all the time. it’s not indicative of anything alignment-wise.

Why the sudden need to change your meta?

if I can be a bit pedantic (me? never), it’s less about a need to “change my meta” (meaning change how I feel other people perceive me) and more about approaching the game in a manner that’s both better for me personally and, I hope, will lead to better results.
