Ok, real talk to both of our scumteams:
Town is doing terribly right now. You're best off targeting each other.

Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
OF the two prevailing theories regard kgray and myself the only way we aren't both town is if jas lied about a discard.
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
Well congrats to town for saving me. I was obviously not paying attention to the game near EoD. I would have either made an explanation, posted something, and at the very least voted celaph at EoD to push to save myself from potential kill.
Now, I have a very simple question: WTF ARE YOU ALL THINKING?
OK. So, what's the mafia upside to putting myself in a position where I can get easily caught in a lie about *town* roles? Attempting to mislead mafia about the power of town roles seems far more likely.
There are 3 situations that can happen.
1: There is a doctor and I've convinced everyone there isn't so mafia disrespect the potential doctor and it gets us a save on an outed PR. The doctor only needs to realize this and *not* say anything.
2: There is not a doctor(and nobody else was shown the doctor card) and I've told mafia something that is actually true. Downside.
3 There is not a doctor but someone else was shown the doctor card. I am at risk of them claiming their discard.
So, what's the upside for town?
#1: I get to see how people react to learning about the town doctor role. This gave me the townclear of Bona. His reaction was perfect with good analysis coming from it. I specifically asked Ghug and Kgray about it b/c I expected them to give good insight.
From ghug it was the insight about my potential role: he knows how mechanically inclined about mafia and would make ppl think I had an interesting role.
From kgray it was insight about the setup. I expected kgray to say that they thought the SK targeted a mafia member, so the SK probably knows who at least one mafia is. The mafia had a doctor and town no longer did, so of course a mafia was defended.
#2: It had the upside of protecting a potential town doctor and getting mafia to overplay their hand.
#3: it makes me appear to be a target for being a huge/cool PR. Mafia become super likely to target me with the NK and I bet town will be happy with the result when they do.
I was planning on making the post admitting I was full of shit *just* before EoN.
The bigger issue for y'all is this:
What is the possible scum motivation for me to lie about this? Like, actually. Can anyone give any actual scum motivation for a play like this?

I've been partying today. I'm very drunk atm. I'm not going to say much else for the rest of the night. I'm very happy I got most of that previous message in while sober.

Option one is that the card was never dealt, or discarded by a scum teammate (I'm discounting this, because I see little reason for you to out him like this if you're his scum teammate) and he gets away with it. If he's town, it makes him seem like a PR more valuable than a doctor and puts a target on his back. If he's alien or SK, it does the same thing. If he's mafia, he doesn't have to worry as much about being targeted. It also misleads everyone but those he might be in a QT with, which I suppose could benefit town (because mafia could target obvious choices without worry of a save).
Option two is that it's counterclaimed. If he's strictly gambling (aka not your teammate, which I again think is the most likely), then this is the more likely outcome of his gamble. The obvious scum advantage is outing a doctor or doctor discard. The obvious scum downside is putting a target on your back if you're caught. These are both disadvantages if he's town, so I'm inclined to ##VOTE Ezio

Yeah you're not supposed to be partying right now there's a pandemic
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
A giant reaction test COMPLETELY discounting the possibility you'd get CC'd.
Get the fuck outta here.

Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
But actually. Why would doctor cc?
What's the downside if someone else claims they discarded it?
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
Regarding Donny's questions (here, here, and here): Hate might be too strong of a word. I actually like Ezio's wagon in isolation, but it was second best to HR's. So I'm self-pres voting the worse wagon with ~40 seconds left in the day. Not a good feeling.
That gets to the second question of why HR was the better wagon than Ezio. The short answer is that it is everything I found scummy about Damo, amplified. He wrote the argument on why Damo's claim is scummy showing that he's thought this through and then goes and does the exact same thing.

Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
HR would only tie it there if both ezio and celaph were town so we mis elim both trying to find who he saved.
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
I, of course, was not around at EoD. Because it's Sunday, I didn't even get on an hour before like most days. That said, if I was around I would've absolutely switched to Ezio from what I've seen so far. I'm gonna have to go back and parse it all to understand what actually happened, which will take a while, but man this sounds like it was horrible.
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
HR could also be venge or governor just doing this shit to make his mark on the game. he also tried to tie d1
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
So why is everyone upset?
I’m upset I couldn’t get my post out fast enough. But otherwise? We got scum nailed. Start flipping them and keep hunting.
Re: MAFIA 64 - The Z Files - Game Thread [HIDDEN]
