You don't need to ask me. North America includes most, if not all, of the Caribbean islands. For the Caribbean islands that may be counted as part of South America depending on the definition, I would have refused to answer the question.

Therefore it appears likely that either:

I am inclined to assume it is option (b).

What is the definition of being "from" a certain country anyway? Birthplace? Could be a diplomat's kid born in any country of the world.
