I'm getting good vibes from worcej's barrage of posts on p8, esp the clarification on the lie detector statement.

damo feels somewhat town to me, despite their horrible lack of joy and whimsy. this one is moreso pure vibes than my read on worcej

I have no real reads regarding scum yet, but I feel weird about anybody who hasn't given a lie detector statement yet, or hasn't explained why they won't give it. I also don't like brainbomb's unexplained vote on foodcoats, but from what I understand stuff like that is normal day 1?

Considering Vincent Price has a 50% chance of being a lie detector this is a useful claim to scum so is inherently scummy.

Two of those 3 are in my pool of 6.

Suppose the claimant is town. If mafia find out they are lying via lie-detector they have a sure fire PR NK. If they are discovered to be telling the truth it narrows the pool of town PRs for scum. So such a claim is inadvisable if town.

Why would scum make such a claim? In the hope they lie detected by town if they know there is a Tamperer on the scum team.

There is already a few things that *could* be said. Although it would mostly be a commentary about overly excited children. I'll spare you all that for the moment. Beyond that, my baseline observations so far:
-Initial votes to 'test' the vote bot is silly. The bot has worked for years. Giving a reason for that kind of vote is already suspect.
-Statements about a lack of 'solving skills' is, well, it's something. Setting low expectations after how many games now?
-And no at this point I have no reason to believe any of you or anything I see. Data and analysis will ferret out motivation.
-Discussions about possible roles is a page waste -but you all know this. Discuss if you must, but it doesn't add much. It just gives the low-hanging fruit something to clutch onto.
-Everyone knows D1 is a crap show.
-Bad actors will reveal themselves in time with how they try to manipulate the flow.

I deliberately didn't tag anyone to test reading comprehension skills which I know is really lacking with the morons and low IQ nitwits who play on this forum.

I like ND’s thought process. I actually only recently realized, from starting to play Diplomacy again, that Day 1 in Mafia is like Spring 1901. You can only evaluate truth and falsehood post-Day 1. Any mafia kills on Day 1 are lucky strikes. But… still good to talk and all that because you provide a baseline for future days.
