Re: Time zones in America
USA is huge I'm not surprised by so many timezones, however it's 150 years above Europe when it comes to buildings and architecture, USA is definitely more modern
The entire preservation of old, rusty gray buildings from medieval and other past eras offers a depressing ancient look to many European cities. If I were to be American, I would never set foot in Europe, but I guess for some the grass always seems greener on the other side.

Or Arizona...which doesn't have daylight saving time. And what about Guam??Carl Tuckerson wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 11:25 pmToo busy memeing epically to even include my Mountain Time Zone :'(Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Thu May 16, 2019 6:26 pmTo someone from a small country like the UK the fact that the USA is so large it spans several time zones is interesting, but it can also be a little confusing.
So for my Western European friends I made this handy guide:
Hawaii: GMT -10 hrs
Alaska: GMT -8 hrs
California: GMT -7 hrs
Chicago: GMT -5 hrs
Alabama, Georgia: GMT -150 years 5hrs
Washington, New York: GMT -4 hrs
Hope this is useful!

European cities are depressing? If you think that you really, really, really haven't seen many US towns and cities...Vaporwave wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 1:16 amUSA is huge I'm not surprised by so many timezones, however it's 150 years above Europe when it comes to buildings and architecture, USA is definitely more modern

Re: Time zones in America
You missed Indiana back in the day where the state was in two different time zones.
Meanwhile Alabama is only pro-life for fetuses and not for adults:

No mention if they'll force rapists to pay child support since there isn't an exemption for that. I guess caring about life stops at birth in the South.

Most of Alabama is in a different time zone than all of Georgia, and I can’t believe this hasn’t been pointed out.

I'd kill for some "depressing ancient" buildings in the US. The US is nothing but a hellscape of glass and concrete. All the buildings are designed to be cost-efficient and remind us that we are nothing but cogs in an industrial machineVaporwave wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 1:16 amUSA is huge I'm not surprised by so many timezones, however it's 150 years above Europe when it comes to buildings and architecture, USA is definitely more modern

Re: Time zones in America
So 25 men in the Alabama state parliament think that they need to make decisions about the women body. Yes that is clearly medieval. On the same primitive level as the ISIS guys are.
Shame on you!

I do get irritated by left wing supposed feminists who consistently treat women they disagree with as if they don't exist. Alabama's governor did play a role too, you know. But no, clearly she's just another weak minded victim of the patriarchy who shouldn't bother their little heads with complex issues.

The main sponsor of the bill was a woman too. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/16/us/a ... women.html There's also this: https://ballotpedia.org/Alabama_Amendme ... ent_(2018) Why are we acting as if the majority of people in Alabama don't want something like this as law?Octavious wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 7:54 pmI do get irritated by left wing supposed feminists who consistently treat women they disagree with as if they don't exist. Yeah, shame on you for banning murder, women should be allowed to kill whoever they please! Their bodies their choice! How medieval to ban murder, I thought we moved past such trivial moral considerations.

Re: Time zones in America
Sorry, I need to amend the above quote. Women should be allowed to kill whichever MEN they please. Otherwise if we let women kill women, we are infringing upon the choices of those women who would be killed. Their bodies their choices after all.Carl Tuckerson wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 9:05 pmYeah, shame on you for banning murder, women should be allowed to kill whoever they please! And maybe abortion should be permitted but only for male babies, female babies well it's their body their choice.

Sure it is. The worst kind too... killing the most defenseless and innocent of all of us. It's a parasite living off the host. Would you defend a tapeworm's right to exist?
Would you let the government decide it could harvest your organs to save other people's lives? How much would you let the government decide to do with your body without your consent. After all it would be against the US constitution for the government to take your property (body) without monetary compensation by forcing you to keep a fetus inside you.
