Kak's opinion is not quite universal but it should be. I think you are being coached to act this way because you've incorrectly used this method in the past and you've been corrected in the past as well.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:38 pmwhile I do understand this, I'm also doing no kill as a general safety vote, in case I forget or something comes up that prevents me from voting down the line. I'll still be trying to keep up and updating voting as I do. the instant snap back against no-vote is, to me at least, very interesting though (granted I'm still partially looking at this game through an among us lens, where skip is, of course, a very valid option).Kakarroto wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:21 pmthe point is, to get voting information from everyone, how they react, save that information, then use that information, where every town should know nothing and only play on gut, or guesses, on a later date. Like 'oh, now whe know X flipped mafia, on day one it looks like Y and Z tried to rescue X and voted C instead. Lets have a deeper look into them'. And there are lots of more things to gain of, later, with reactions and stuff that happened in the prior days.
Voting no-kill is like not providing information from yourself, making yourself kind a blank slot, which is what a mafia member would like to do, at least some. The more information about you is publicly known, your behaviour and voting and reason etc., the better other players can read you. Town want to find other town, as much as they want to find mafia.
As town, it is quite a good idea to project information from you, so your team members can read you. Mafia knows already you are not on their team, though they want to know who the PR's are. THAT information should be hidden as town, yes, but also, it's probably a good idea to send information out about your thoughts, reasoning and logic.

Thank you! Have a reads list/alignment chart:Kakarroto wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:40 pmwhen you click "post reply", below the three buttons (save draft) (preview) and (submit), there are two 'folders': -) options and -) attachmentsDiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:21 pmMy gimmick is ready: Alignment charts!
Functionally, these are just weird readlists.
Good = Town, Evil = Scum
Lawful = "Helpful"/"Good townplay", Chaotic = "Unhelpful"/"Not Trusted"
Yes, Lawful does bleed a bit into Good, and Chaotic bleeds a bit into Evil. There are some differences, though. For example, I am more likely to trust the analysis of someone who I read as Lawful Good than someone who I read as Chaotic Good.
Also, 3x3 alignment charts just weren't good enough, so I'm using 7x7.
Umm... how do I post an image that I don't have a weblink to?
click attachments
click the button 'add files'
that should open the window towards your computer, then you search for the picture file and put it in.
then you have the option to either place it in the text, or just add it
if you want to place it in the text, click with the mouse first in the text field where you want the file, then click the button below that says 'place inline' (or something like that). When you submit the post, the picture should then appear in the post

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Brainbomb said there were 5? Somewhere I think, too lazy to check.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Sign up thread includes this information, which is where I read the rules. I assumed the GMs would use the same info and include relevant information like thatDiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:38 pmCorrect me if I'm wrong, but the number of mafia doesn't appear to be.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Right, but Squiggs implicitly claims it's in the setup, which he clearly hasn't read.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:42 pmBrainbomb said there were 5? Somewhere I think, too lazy to check.

I agree with the logic that killing someone always provides information, I dont like this stance you are taking so early on. Sure I see a SCENARIO where MAYBE we dont kill someone. But to stake out that posisiton so early is just sillinesskingofthepirates wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:12 pm##vote no kill
In such a massive game, I don't see the point in not skipping when there is not enough info. unless there is a major scum slip, or some other great realization, this is my vote for the day.

I'm a long time proponent of focussing on voting out lurkers early, but most often I find resistance toward this sentimentFlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:32 pmBRUH, I get not talking in the beginning, but 12 posts total!?! I just checked. Brain did in fact say there are 5 scum in the sign up thread.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:42 pmBrainbomb said there were 5? Somewhere I think, too lazy to check.
To Foxcastle, I don't think Squiggs actually said how many, he just waved off the question. Squiggs might be scum with a new player.

Why are you asking if you should scumread me or not? If you're gonna scumread me, do it like ghug does, unashamed

I'm leaning into the irony of you making a big show of being exasperated with scumslips/townslips and then ostensibly making a scumslip. Thus, "is this where we debate..."

A new player would be most likely to scumslip and answer this question, which might explain Squiggs posting - preventing his scumteammate from slipping.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:47 pmWhy "with a new player"?DiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 10:47 pmI just checked.
