One of my first real things I cooked on my own, that I wanted to make, with only me looking at the recipe was this thing called a French omelette. It was an omelette with sliced apples and cheese. I'd never made an omelette before, I was 16, and thought, "what the hell." It was ok. I wouldn't make it again, and never did...and I love omelettes. I prefer mine to include spinach, bacon, and blue cheese. Sometimes a jalapeno to keep me honest.

Now, a common lunch for me is apple slices topped with a local medium cheddar.

Oooo.... I'll have to get an omelette with those ingredients one time and see if it's good.

I am looking forward to Chaqa relating how the Chipotle wage increase will impact their eating habits.

I mean, anyone who is in lower income brackets should be concerned with the relatively quick increase in wage for unskilled labor.

And yeah, I said it, working at Chipotle isn't a skill.

But to be fair - minimum wage should've actually kept up with inflation/productivity/'livable wages' over the past 30+ years and all the politicians suck for not allowing it....

ANYWAYS, off my soapbox for now...

If you have some skill that employers want, they now have to make your job more appealing than Chipotle (or an Amazon warehouse, but that's a lower bar). Good for everyone except the people who pay wages, and they should all be eaten anyway.

No. This only started happening around March, before that it was basically fine.

There's this whole thing going on with restaurants and other businesses, if you hadn't noticed.

FWIW, I live in an area where the population is ~47,000, so there has always been a labor issue so the fast food places have paid $14/hr for a long time.

About 3 or 4 years ago we cut cable entirely, and went with an android box. Do I feel guilty about the illegal acquisition of content? Maybe? Sometimes? But the cable bill was ridiculous. We do have Netflix, and if I am so inspired I'd subscribe to NHL package. We stream Coronation Street from ITV using a VPN. And that's about the extent of our TV watching. Moving the TV to the basement made for an easy cut to viewing time since we'd rather be on the main floor or outside.

Can't say I feel like I am missing anything.

Honestly, I used to torrent all my content but with how streaming services have kicked it up significantly, the need to torrent faded away.

Unfortunately, we've discovered how awesome the 'TV Babysitter' is with my 1.5 year old. I swear to god I have dreams where the tunes from Cocomelon are playing...
