I urge you not to be too easy with calling him obvtown.

There are many pings that point to the opposite side. And remember, that scum brainbomb is usually a lot more towny than town brainbomb.

1: He chose the friendly, easy to go along with, playstyle. This one gets him scumread a lot less often and he knows that.

2: He had a townread on Bismarck for some unexplained reason. Then after he saw people noticing the slot being online but not posting, he flipped that around. So look at the possibility of scum brainbomb: Bismarck is town, and he thought since im pushing it this might be an easy mislynch. OR, theyre scum together meaning he needs to be able to bus it if the wagon picks up steam.

Look at how he went about it. Unexplained townread. Unexplained swap. Then he tried to distract from that by focussing on Mache with a big wall that quoted a ton of stuff, with some misleading reasoning that was only partially accurate. This is suspicious.

3: The mafia chat oopsy. This could come from scum or town really. But the way he responded to it, being all mysterious, and then claiming outright we need "more proof to do A+B" to properly be able to call him scum for it. Town in that spot just state they assumed the normal game situation where scum has no daychat on webdip right?

Im not saying he's lockscum. Im not saying he should be the lynch today.

Im saying we need to be wary as fuck to not be fooled by a potential scum brainbomb here.
Vecns, I was talking about TheMarche. I think I have never considered BB obvtown in any game, it's one of the hardest spot to read to me.
About Brain, I think pushing the newbies and questioning is usually more town BB then scum BB that tend to be way more chaotic. So I had a town lean on him.
About your points.
1 - I expect to him to act like this at start as amt alignment after last game meltdown.
2 - The townread on Bismarck is weird, he can be null at best and using a Wall to cover it is something BB could certainly do, first real scummy thing. And it worked, because I didn't notice in my catchup and focused only on The Marche
3 - I don't think I get your point.
point 3 simplified:

He made a big deal about the "scum day/nightchat slip". If youre town, you just brush it away with the reasoning why you assumed it opens at night.

He made a big deal out of it, claiming we need more evidence that he's scum.

Ok guys, I did some more thinking and searching in old games and the peterbot

I need some help to figure out if im correct or totally wrong.

Donny was talking about a secretary. Now, I know what a secretary is, because I was in ~that game~

Normally, a secretary is called an encryptor. This is like, almost universal, across mafia websites and usually the case as well on webdip.

See here: a game where I was the secretary. Surprise, surprise, Worcej was scum with me. Worcej is the GM here. He couldve very well done some throwback and called the encryptor a secretary again.
https://www.quicktopic.com/52/H/bMgKmxLsVaqr

Now, Donny jumping to the conclusion that the role would be called secretary is mightily suspicious and VERY POSSIBLY a scumslip.

I need some help. Were there more recent games where an encryptor was called a secretary?
M46 had a secretary. Aaaand... Worcej was the GM for that.

I get now. I think coming from Brain this isn't that weird, he doesn't like simple explanations. Point 2 is still far stronger to me.

I am looking at the Secretary thing. I don't find many places where Secretary is used related to Mafia. Will wait for Donny answer on this. And I think it's his first game, at least here.

M46 was where we thought we caught newb scum when a new player called Balki "smart and experienced". We guessed that the secretary had written some advice for new players (e.g., "watch out for Balki, he's smart and experienced"), which turned out not to be true.

on epicmafia its also wildly different in such a way that it doesnt fit with the context of the quote.

Damn, I mightve even ignored the shit I picked up on thinking it wasnt so important if it wasnt for that reminder

Donny said he thought there could be a secretary because "votes have fluctuated a bit." My interpretation of that is that he thinks the secretary is directing their teammates to change votes.

It's really bothering you, isn't it?
Could it be that Foxcastle is super triggered by my post because Brainbomb was defending him against me, and he's really bothered by my vote on him? Fox really seems to be looking out for things that threaten him.

Intriguing.
It's not bothering me very much, but it seems weird of you to do. I especially think its weird for you because if someone else were doing this, you'd go out of your gourd demanding an explanation.

And your vote on me seemed to be pretty clearly a joke-phase vote. Is it not?
It's the sort of thing I do all the time. Look at how I've changed the thread subject heading in this post. Go back through my last 5 or 6 games and you'll notice me doing that all the time. I make humourous, content-unrelated edits to quotes all the time, and I have done so for ages. It's just my sense of humour. It's weird that you find this unusual or are treating it as some kind of novelty I've never done before.

I'm happy with my vote on you for now.

Yes, obviously. But the line of thinking was "how would a brand new player know that Balki is smart and experienced?" Turns out that new players can sometimes just tell.

Its obvious that he means daychat and coordinated voting, yes.

I mean, the only real explenation he -could have- is that he went digging through peter bot, but given how hard it is to actually deduce what a role does once you see the name, I wouldnt buy this, ever.

Can you not fuck with the thread title, please? It doesn't seem to have interrupted the Peterbot, but when mods were threatening to ad the [hidden] tag to the thread title several games ago, they stopped short because of concerns that it would screw up the bot's ability to read the game.
