Bodyguard is technically not one-shot, but as soon as its power *works* effectively, they are likely to die. Dead people cannot take further actions.

I don’t think we have time for massclaim plus gladiator now. Vecna, what do you think about a Gladiator challenge in the first half of today?

Also, this is what happens if we all claim specific roles. One of the mafia claims bodyguard so we have two bodyguards. We don't lynch either today because we think this will resolve itself with night actions. Mafia may or may not use their kill and if they do they likely use it to target someone random and not one of the PRs. Mafia don't use the jailer and the mafia dude posing as bodyguard says he was jailed. We have to kill the other bodyguard (the real bodyguard) when we do so, the fake bodyguard votes in the last second for the gladiator and the emperor thumbs him down. So we trade bodyguard and gladiator for vanilla mafia and then they can kill off the rest of the PRs in the next nights basically unopposed. We end up in a likely 5 vs 3 or 4 vs 2 in which the people left are the Chaqas and Jamies like you say and it all comes down to them. I don't see any benefit to the massclaim.

On the other hand, scum can attempt to NK obv town that the bodyguard is defending and die from it or the bodyguard can learn the emperor's identity before he thumbs down anyone etc etc. Not revealing PRs here gives town many options.

Hmm, skimming up to this point, one thing that stuck out/come to mind was Vapor trying to repeatedly hint over and over again and being skipped over as he's dropping some sort of bombshell in thread, hinted later half of day or something? but dunno if he's saying he's got some sort of large post dump up or he's trying to troll/connotate at something else lol

Well, I was in doubt about the massclaim because scum can't coordinate and could make a mistake. But after this detailed explanation from yukki I think this isn't happening.

In regards to mass claim idea, I don't feel it's worth it at this particular point in the game, it seems a bit early and too long of a time to allow for wifom/picking off?

No, if you ask me, assuming you are really town, it was the right thing, because while you're still alive we can still listen to you and interact with you and review your posts and interactions from the perspective of knowing you're pure town.

Is there any reason I'm missing that we should not ask Vapor to tell us his role? It seems to me that Vecna's plan is better or worse depending on what role Vapor has. The plan works better if Vapor is VT.
