Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
But I am really torn right now between pushing Percy (which Jamiet is right about, hard to build) and Worcej (who becomes a runner-up wagon).
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
Percy, why haven't you done more this game?
In particular, why haven't you done more this phase?

Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
I iso'd Vapor up until I got to the roleblock claim, I'll look at that separately.
A lot of Vapor's iso is very affable and loose and pretty much all over, and I think that is why I am reading them town. worcej has said that Vapor is not consistent and I have to agree, Vapor is absolutely all over the place, but it seems so deeply ingrained into their playstyle and every single post they make that I can't read into it. This is the sort of post I see from Vapor a bunch and I just can't parse it:
A couple things did catch my eye though:
Vapor spends a lot of energy D1 defending emc. (And, I realize as I go on, on D2 as well.) Absolutely I can understand advising people to keep a level head on emc... but not as many times as Vapor defended them, especially when emc wasn't doing anything to make themselves useful to town. In theory scum!Vapor saw that emc was a lynch target that would eventually happen and was distancing to gain early townie points.

I'm not saying Vapor is wrong or bad here, but it is kind of like a brainbomb post... I literally just put it aside because it is too full of ifs ands or buts to get anything from it on my end. I'm not sure if that's normal for Vapor's approach to the game or not.Vaporwave wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 5:23 pmMy anticipation for Vecna posting is very obvious in every game because I wanna get that read as quickly as possible.
This time, however, I sense a sergeant tone from him, a bit aggressive for pushing things.
I'm not an expert in reading Vecna, however I will mention that he's not my townlean as of now
something rubs me the wrong way
I trust dam's read on Vecna for D1 and I won't vote for mighty warrior Vecna, not trusting bomb cause he might be scum this time
bomb can fool me better than Vecna
solving Vecna is important

There's also a weird trend of Vapor claiming that one of xorxes or worcej is scum. I only managed to clip two as I went along but there was at least a very clear third such quote I missed.
Vapor, what is it that makes you so certain one of xorxes or worcej is scum? Why have you drilled on that so many times? And what has Jamie got to do with it?

I feel like Percy's style is very filtered. He appears (generally, across games) as aloof, precise, and calculated in his tone and what he posts. That post in response to my vote seemed different.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:25 pmFiltered?Foxcastle wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:20 pmIt just looks to me like the first time he hasn't filtered himself. I’m not so sure on that, I seem to be getting a rise out of you lol
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
Nope, just pointing out my amusement at your attempt to emotionally manipulate me.

Just to clarify, I knew the stickbug could activate starting N5, but for some reason in my head D5 came after N5.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 2:31 pmPercy ISO...
Percy seems to take care the first half of Day 1 to just have nice little interactions with people on the thread. How nice.About halfway through says "I'm fairly new so generally confused, and have been varying levels of confused in all my games." The tinfoil hat side of me says this is lowering expectations so we dismiss him early. Additional points on this: he points out the gamblers fallacy later, and claims Dargo's response to Bozo's massclaim ideas is a "dynamic view of the game" that only town has. Not really "confused newbie" perspective...Aw, thanks.Follows Jamiet on his initial vote on MoscowFleet.I believe this was something I said in response to something, but you're kind of right. The message I was trying to convey was that I am terrible at this game. I don't have particularly good reads, and am too easily convinced by someone just saying they aren't mafia. As a Town, I didn't want anyone to think that my lack of being helpful meant I was scum, because I've always been unhelpful. As to your additional points, I just know a lot of logical fallacies irl, and find them interesting, and the dynamic view of the game phrase game from the mafia councils guide to playing mafia. I'm not arguing I'm a brand new noob, but I'm not quite a full fledged player. Basically the tween of player skill.
Vanishes for the 4.5 hours before EOD1. Reappears with about 5 minutes to go. Claims stickbug, but gets the specifics of his mechanic wrong (it activates after N4, so he has to prove himself N5, so he's lynchable D6, not D5 as he states; which he gets wrong again in N5, claiming it activates after N5).
Has been fairly active, but significantly dropped off today. Hm...
Generally I really dislike his D1 claim. It looks panicky, like he game back to the game, wasn't able to catch up fast enough to see that it was EMC vs. Chaqa, and claimed too soon. But I dunno. I think more often than not, last-minute claims are scum trying to avoid the lynch.
And I said I wouldn't be as active, as I have family staying with me this week.
IMO, towns should also want to avoid being lynched, because their lynch is a mislynch for Town.
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
You would also think it is scummy if I defended myself adamantly. I am damned if I do and damned if I don’t, so what does it matter?
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
But see, this looks like scum worcej to me. Not just a need to push back against a lynch on him, but a desire to humiliate town for bragging rights.

No, I mind being a wagon. At around three to four people voting for me I really start sweating. But I'm not jumping down the throats of anyone who places a single vote on me. That seems overly defensive.
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
No, I am just saying you are wrong and spiraling and not caring as you are wrong. There is no emotional manipulation meant in that - I am trying to wake you up because I need you to be better for our team to win. As a town clear, I expect better from you instead of just burying yourself in a tunnel.
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
No, then you'd be playing defense. I'd have a fundamentally different view of that than your current strategy which is to go on the offense against me. I think it's interesting that Percy took the same tack. Rather than explaining how I was wrong or how my read was unjustified, he tried to play cool and throw it back in my face.
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
because of some posts that I've seen between them, esp Jamie's treatment of xorxes.
As of now, I'm firm on both xorxes and Jamie being town

Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
I think you don’t know how to read me. In time you will learn I guess.
FYI - It’s a lot easier for me to be calm in responding to you because I cannot default to my usual OMGUS I do when someone pushes me because you are a confirmed clear. That takes a lot of the emotional response out of it.

How can my interaction with XORXES cause you to reach a conclusion about WORCEJ???
Re: Mafia 47 - The Sixth Mass Extinction - GAME THREAD [HIDDEN]
See my above post. I think I address that pretty well.Foxcastle wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:45 pmNo, then you'd be playing defense.
