There was a huge benefit. If he was scum, not only would we have lynched scum D2, but I was 90% sure Fox and Jamie had to be scum with him. That's huge and keeping the uncertainty to D3 was not helpful.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:35 am
Outing a potential town clear is not the same as a mass claim on a smaller scale. Here is why I find it hard to believe you think your idea was "low price/huge reward". First, I am sure you know the value in waiting to reveal a town clear until after the mafia have NKed the other town clears. Second and more important, if Hosuke was scum, he was already caught, there was no benefit of pushing it D2.
Additionally, as I explained before, I wanted to save damo and Percy and his wagon was the most likely to grow.
You are restating the same benefits I stated above. Of the six roles that could be disproven (masons, vig, votestealer, inno child, bulletproof), five have already been claimed: two are proved town, two will soon be proved town, one will have to wait but I know is town, and the last one can no longer be proven, and they will have to make a good case on why they didn't try to prove themselves if they ever claim. Here is why a mass claim would have been useful. You don't want to lynch Percy, damo, or Chaqa because they have claimed various town roles. What if all three are scum? You claim inno child, what if you are scum? I am not supposed to consider lynching any of you because of your claims? The best way to play this would have been to claim roles so we could collect as many clears as possible, hope some scum are forced to claim roles that can eventually be disproven, and ignore all other roles.
So the upside of your plan, given what we now know, would have been very low.
The downside of your plan would have been that we would not have the hope of benefitting from the few remaining roles that could still be useful (doctor, tracker, commuter, oracle, absorber).
So the way the roles were actually distributed, with town having most of the provable roles, your plan would have been a major disaster, don't you agree?
