That is probably true, but who do you think was the most artificial in their push on you?

I think a mass claim is worth losing the tracker, watcher, and cop, especially since there is a chance one or more of these roles do not exist and the scum can claim them.xorxes wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 12:20 amYou'r not bothering to think much, are you?brainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 9:33 pmChimp – 1-shot vigbozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 8:55 pm
What roles do they have to kill? No town roles are so powerful that it is obvious.
3. Dog – Tracker (turn 2/3)
4. Dugong – Mason
5. Eagle – Commuter (odd turns from 3)
6. Albatross – Lover
7. Octopus – Vote stealer (single use)
8. Ring Tailed Lemur – Doctor (turns 4+)
9. Crayfish – bulletproof (turn 1)
10. Gerrothorax – Jailer (turn 2,5,9)
11. Woolly Mammoth – Inno child (turn 7+)
14. Meerkat – Watcher (turn 3/4)
18. Anglerfish - Oracle
19. Llama – Mason
20. Stick Insect – 1 Use role cop
I would argue that if scum knew who was each of these it would be like going to an all you can eat chinese buffet. These are all pretty damn good roles.
Let's see:
Killing Lover would be an absolute waste for them.
Killing Oracle would be counterproductive.
Killing Masons or Inno Child is not very different than killing a VT, same for the Vig if thery shoot day 1.
Jailer and Doctor they just want to know who they are so they can roleblock them if necessary. Bulletproof they just want to avoid killing day 1 and Commuter they want to know when they can kill them.
The ones they really want to kill are Tracker, Watcher and Cop, and Vote stealer to a much lesser extent. So the mass claim would help them get rid of any of those that are in play. That's the con, we would be giving away any investigative power.
The advantage would be that their Janitor becomes useless, and they can't fakeclaim any role that can be disproven.

Yes, the mafia know more about the assigned town roles, because they know 5 possible town roles that are not assigned. This means the mafia know the 15 town roles come from a pool of 16 possible roles, while the town members know the 15 town roles come from a pool of 21 possible roles. Mass claiming roles negates some of this advantage because some of the roles can be proven or disproven, so we can use this once all scum are locked into a fake role.Percy Williams wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 12:46 amWait... you're telling me, that right now the Mafia knows more about which Town roles exist, (Which should all be in the OP) and that claiming our roles will negate this advantage (despite the fact they have fake claims available [which I'm really not sure what that is/ how it works entirely] to only add confusion into a mass claim while getting information from Town). Put me on the opposed list.bozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 10:44 pmThe scum already know more than town about what town roles exist. I don't think it will happen anyway, and I think if a partial massclaim happened, that'd be worse for exposing a bunch of information that scum could use while providing sufficient ambiguity/uncertainty for them to hide behind. And I think that keeping scum guessing is a better strategy than putting all the cards on the table, at which point they can build a counterstrategy to whatever plan we come up with.
The only benefit I see is that if it happened today before they can communicate, a scum might slip. Or if the scumteam all has to keep 2 roles straight, they might slip later. But again, that's only possible if it's a complete mass claim, and it's only a chance that it will happen (or that town will notice).

I do not have answers to those questions yet, and I think we can pull off a mass claim.

It would take 14 days for scum to kill off all these roles, if they are all assigned to town. If you think they all have equal value, that is a reason to support a mass claim.brainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 9:33 pmChimp – 1-shot vigbozotheclown wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 8:55 pmWhat roles do they have to kill? Yes, that is the one negative to mass claiming, but have you considered all of the benefits?Chaqa wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2019 11:22 pmI think it would be very unwise as it would give Mafia an idea who to target to get rid of important town roles.

I understand, but disagree. The mafia can just fakeclaim the Vt roles, and roles that can't prove themselves yet (like the stick bug, which is a cop around turn four or something), so we're doing five coin flips, while the Mafia team now knows exactly who to kill to ensure that they are coin flip probabilities. This also redefines the game in a way I consider to be less fun, and I want future crazy setups like this.worcej wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 1:05 amWhat he is implying is that the town will gain more information by claiming while also giving mafia all the information.Percy Williams wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2019 12:46 amWait... you're telling me, that right now the Mafia knows more about which Town roles exist, (Which should all be in the OP) and that claiming our roles will negate this advantage (despite the fact they have fake claims available [which I'm really not sure what that is/ how it works entirely] to only add confusion into a mass claim while getting information from Town). Tit for tat kinda thing, instead more like tit for game if we do it.
