To discuss weaponising the pathogen at this stage would be to place the proverbial carriage before the thestral. We must absolutely prioritise researching a cure for it.dargorygel wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 1:02 pm... or control it...

Could terraforming be sped up by the use of this pathogen??
... could the contagion be altered to affect sheep.. and then the sheep be sent out into the hinterland... and aid in demolition?

But these guys blasts when they die.
##Call Gm, how does they react to fire?
Re: Webdiplomacy Sci-Fi Simulator III Signups
Good.
Proposal 5.1.2 Quarantine patients. Burn them when they die. We need somewhere to burn these corpses.

Re: Webdiplomacy Sci-Fi Simulator III Signups
@Chagall I apologise if we have misunderstood one another. It seems we have the same aim here - namely, avoid any more explosions. I firmly agree with you that if any of our inhabitants die, they should immediately be burned (which, as you rightly point out, definitely means that we need somewhere to burn them).
Where perhaps we disagreed was in the suggestion that we should actively kill those who are not yet dead but seem to be already moving inexorably towards that destination. I maintain that we should BY NO MEANS kill out own people. Not even if we think they will due anyway. Given that it will not serve us in any way as far as tackling this epidemic is concerned, it would simply be an amoral waste of our time.
But certainly. Quarantine them, treat them, see if we can find a cure/appropriate alternative long-term solution. And if any of them die despite our best efforts to keep them alive...
Then burn them to Hell.

*Hana, Lazlo, Jaromir and Ignus have returned to the colony with 43 survivors and Traxler, a marine*
Re: Webdiplomacy Sci-Fi Simulator III Signups
Traxler 4 health, 5 atk. Marine, Human.
Once per phase Traxler can secure an area and it cannot be attacked. (Passive Ability: (Positive) Empath. Can sense a bad crisis card a phase early.

***MISSION REPORT***
Greetings fellow councilors. I speak for my fellow mission companions when I say we were horrified to watch as the tragic events unfolded which led to the deaths of our valued doctor Tierney, our beloved frisky friend Skirks as well as the loyal workers and guards lost. They will be sorely missed.
Had we known the evils that had befallen Battleship Branimir, we would not so hastily have sought out the ship. Once again, Mr. President, your intuition proved correct. However, our mission came at a timely moment for the remaining souls on the ship as they were at critically low levels of oxygen. Had we not arrived when we did, they likely would have perished and would have added to the loss we have suffered today.
Upon boarding the ship, we were greeted by Loom, one of the great ancient race of wisps of this planet. Loom had sought to prevent the destruction of the lifeforms of the planet, but upon encountering some of the "bombies" (the term coined by our counselor Hana for these exploding, zombified corpses) Loom got spooked and EMP'd the ship, taking down it's power (and presumedly frying our hacker's VPN and severing his connection). Loom reported that there is another wisp on the planet named Luciérnaga who specializes in pyrokinesis and could be of service in destroying the bombies. We also learned a good deal about the wisps' history. Loom's wife Coleoptera was one of the first wisps to learn to leave the world. But tragically she died after traveling too far away from the planet and not having enough energy to return. Loom is reminded of her by the Endeavor Lily (I propose we send him a planter of lilies as a thank you for the assistance he provided us and as a memorial to his wife).
Coleoptera travelled off the planet and through the wormhole located near us. There she found "many systems. Many creatures. Beautiful worlds, star clusters, wonders and many habitable worlds. Only the Australians, of our race have ever been there. She liked them."
We happened upon the leader of the group of survivors still on the ship, Traxler, a marine. He briefed us on the situation of the survivors and their plight with the bombies. He reports that Brainbot took over the ship and he suspects was able to manipulate Iago (noting that Iago was behaving suspiciously before he departed the ship). They were alerted to the crisis when they noticed a toxin being released from the ship's air ducts. As the ship grew more overwhelmed with chaos, the medbay was overrun. It was around this time that Brainbot cut life support. They were able to release the escape pods, but not everyone would fit. Traxler and his men were brave to stay behind to combat the bombies, at great personal danger.
Together, we contrived a plan. We were able to contain ourselves in two locations. Jaromir skillfully distracted the bombies on board by blaring music from our Python (the bombies are attracted to noise) while we reenabled the life support system. Then we opened the air locks in the areas of the ship where we were not contained. The bombies were sucked into space and were burned up on re-entry into our atmosphere. Since the piloting systems were also fried by Loom's EMP, Jaromir attempted to manually land the ship back on Endeavor, but the ship was irreparably damaged by the landing. We are able to scrap the ship for steel (5). We also decided at least this way we don't have to deal with removing the Brainbot OS from the ship's server.
It's definitely good to be back amongst you fellow councilors. There are still many unanswered questions. Where did this virus come from? Who worked with Brainbot in the installation of the virus in our vessel and in Battleship Branimir? Who mind-melded Diamor which led to his death? Ignus also informs us that Chagall's blood as a changeling with regeneration is very valuable and that evil people will want his blood.

@Flicke - what will happen if we are unwilling/unable to complete the Ynbar request?
@Naia - Greetings! We are grateful for your presence in our colony as we are all in need of deep healing.

Flicke: were a colony of YnBar. Presumably theyll be mad
Re: Webdiplomacy Sci-Fi Simulator III Signups
@Everyone - we currently have (9) Harvesters. What do you feel like a good usage of our resource collectors would be? At some point soon, I feel like we should work on cleansing our atmosphere.
Building projects for this phase:
-Laser tower defense system
-Hospital (need health desperately)
-Oxygenator Turbine
-Chapel (2 phases)
-Greater Mine (2 phases?)
-Biowells
-Upgrading other Hangar (2 phases)
We've got a good deal of workers and stocked up a good amount of resources last turn. We definitely want to put them to good use this turn, but not deplete ourselves for next turn. I think the system of building 2 phase structures when we have a surplus of resources is a good plan as it will allow us to replenish our resources while we keep our workers busy the following phase.
At some point, we're going to have to think about how we will deal with the influx of Pop our District will be generating. I'm not sure what our current Pop limit is within our Biodome, but we may need to build a second Biodome at a satellite location soon and will need to stockpile the resources for that (8 steel, 5 credits, 300 workers).

Re: Webdiplomacy Sci-Fi Simulator III Signups
Right. I'm not suggesting we blatantly ignore their request. But I'm primarily worried about the Fuel and the (to a lesser extent) Credits. I assume in addition to the 7 Fuel they request, we will need to provide 8 Fuel for the journey of our transport there and back.
Re: Webdiplomacy Sci-Fi Simulator III Signups

Flicke: Population will cap at 1000 or (10). Once the dome is full we cant settle outside of it. So we either need breathable air or another dome.
Re: Webdiplomacy Sci-Fi Simulator III Signups
Can you remind me what the current level of breathable air is?
