And let me expand a bit more on my views on teacon. This quote left a serious impression:

It is a question that seems to reflect a desire to look solvey, more than an intention to solve. Somebody else identified Bozo and Moscow as the two lurkers so far. And so teacon asks Bozo what he thinks of the lurker policy, like it's some kind of riddle where you have to ask the guy who always lies "what would the other guy say" about the guy who always tells the truth to avoid walking down the path with the tiger at the end. Anyone know the reference here? It's somewhere deep in my memory files.

Anyway, it doesn't really matter what Bozo thinks of a lynch the lurker policy. The answer is not illuminating and I cannot imagine that teacon cares about the answer to that question, but I feel like the question is posed as a sort of performance art. "Look at me! I'm asking a clever question! I'm town guys! Guys! I'm town guys!"

This is literally just how Teacon plays, you saying this doesnt help anyone no one is going to go on that wagon

That is very vague, can you tell me exactly where you think my argument is flawed?

He thinks if Chippe were VT he would be modkilled, therefore Chippe cannot possibly be VT. This is just as flawed as Chippe thinking he could prove he was VT. You can't prove you someone is not VT for the same reason you can't prove you are VT.
If I was modkilled for posting my own role and not for posting others, I could mechanically confirm my own role by posting all of the other roles that aren't mine.

I never said I thought he would be modkilled, only that he would be breaking a rule, and the GM responded to someone's question saying he had not broken any rules. The game is setup so that ChippeRock can't prove he is VT, that does not mean that ChippeRock can't prove he is not VT by making fake claims.

If this were the case the game would be broken as I explained, which Worcej said it was not broken. You're trying to game the mechanics in a way similar to Chippe.

He says that scum are probably the people who "seem confident about their vote" and says he wants to "see how people see him" so it's "best to not talk too much" which I'm going to break down piece by piece.

This mindset is one of scum. A new scum player, which I define as someone playing their first game on the site and draws scum in said game. Sure new town can be scared too. Sure new town can post less. But those aren't factors I'm looking at when I determine where he falls in how he falls in the criterion of Confidence in their early posts.

Does this player defer to the opinion of more experienced players?
Does this player think that it is better to take a back seat and allow more experienced players to drive the whole of discussion?
If the answer to both of the above is yes, then we've reeled in a player who behaves the way a new scum player does. And for Cruaader the answer to both of the above is yes.

The second criterion is...
Something the rest of town forgot and isn't yet something to look for so I'm keeping it close to my chest.

This is what I mean. He'll drop the predominantly scholarly* tone and move straight to opinions when he's sure to himself that he needs to pretend someone's scum.

I'm not convinced your scum, TrPrado, but stuff like this doesn't help. I know Cruaader has said he's not new, but being COMPLETELY CONVINCED that who you believed to be a new player is clearly scum is unacceptable.

Why do people keep using the "they have played too bad to be scum" or "they have put in too little effort to be scum" arguments? That just gives an incentive for everyone to play anti-town. Scum can and will lurk, play dumb, and play disinterested, especially if this is how we treat those kinds of people.

no, i posted why a few pages back. empty posts that say garbage with the intent of trying to provide something. fake reasons to scum read someone, drops a vote on teacon and dips, has been lurking for like the past hour and hasn't posted. this is really our best bet tbh

really what's worth looking for is people who are posting just enough to avoid the lurker label, but not really committing anything in terms of behavior (i.e., hunting) or opinions (i.e., reads when we get to that stage of the game). the problem with a huge game like this is that there's so much room to lurk that it's hard to find.

This explains everything of why we shouldnt be going after bozo.
