Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
@vapor imo we should figure out the d1 lynch before talking about anything else. what do you think of bozo?
@espresso - Discussion of outside meta is clearly allowed, though there's little way for us to verify its truth. What do you think of durga's play so far?
(be honest, it's for science)

aww, you left me out.damo666 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 11:05 amExcellent content from Espresso and Vash. Townread both.
Also liking the content from Moscow and town leaning.
Fairly confident Durga is town.
Percy not so sure about.
Like to hear more from einstein and xorxes.
Bozo his usual logical self. Impossible to guess his alignment.
rdr moved to null.
ND subject of next post.
Also: thanks for being more verbose. keep it coming.

If ND is scum with Durga, they deserve acting medals from the screen actor's guild. SAG!ND wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 4:29 amu wouldn't get it derpna. You aren't a high IQ individual and clearly do not read the game and have no interest in doing so. It's beyond me why you waste your time playing these games. We are all tired of the same old snide and sadistic playstyle. It's awful. Please stop for the love of Mr. President Trump our lord and savior.
ND: This is her scum meta!
Durga: This is his scum meta!
ND: anything you can post I can post louder
Durga: I can post anything louder than you
ND: no you can't!
Durga: yes i can!
ND: no you can't!
Durga: yes i can!
ND: no you can't!
Durga: yes i can!
both, in QT: yes, we can!
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
There's posting requirements (as far as I'm aware) and if someone doesn't meet them they'll just get subbed out. Also, lynching them is just an easy way to avoid having to read/decide about the active players - and it's just the first day. People are understandably busy - but if it's say, day 3 and they're still lurking, then we're talking.
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
Nah, just a silly way of saying "slight townlean". The thing is, I don't think you know how many mini-essays I wrote to Vapor imploring him to be more active in the main thread when we played scum together - and he wouldn't do it. He was actively avoiding logging in to the site, because of how much he disliked being scum, to the point of almost-throwing the game (had it been different circumstances in main thread). Of course, that could've been a setup for a long-running meta thing for the future, but it doesn't seem like it.teacon7 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 2:04 pmThe read is so confusingly phrased that it's hard to parse.
I read it this way: "Maybe (but prolly not that likely) scum."
Which means the noun is "scum" and there are two qualifiers: "maybe" and "but prolly not that likely"
The "but prolly not that likely" modifies the "maybe" so he's hedging his hedge on the scumread.
It doens't help that my read on vapor is polar opposite from emc's.
The reason he gave is silly. If scum!vapor doesn't like participating, but vapor here seems to be participating more... seems like that's a towntell. Again, I've not played much with the guy, but the reasoning didn't make sense.

tbf, I'm against D1 policying lurkers. But I'm not against asking about it. :)e.m.c^42 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 2:10 pmThere's posting requirements (as far as I'm aware) and if someone doesn't meet them they'll just get subbed out. I won m22 as lurking scum, so it's on my mind.
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
Here, reworded; "probably, with my current information, Vapor is not likely to be scum"
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
That's the most convoluted phrasing I've ever ever seen on a slight townlean. If for no other reason than that I teach grammar from time to time, can you please parse for me how that translates to "slight townlean" ?e.m.c^42 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 2:18 pmNah, just a silly way of saying "slight townlean". We crossposted.
So you're saying that:
"Maybe (but prolly not that likely) scum."
should be:
"Maybe scum (but prolly not that likely) ."
?
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
ugh. I feel like we're back in the stone age game.
guys guys grammar matters. it matters which phrases modify what words.
@emc - thanks for the clarity. This doesn't affect what looks like overqualifying hedginess from you, but I'm glad to have you clarify the wording.
Now: who are you going to vote for today?

Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
Vapor may be scum, since this is online, and I'm not discounting the possibility of him running a long con with his meta (something that I've considered in the past), and making the town point moot.
However, from a gut feel that doesn't seem like something/the type of wifom he'd play with, from recalling his logic and reasonings in past games. So, because of [insert point], I townlean him.
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
Oh, so far the hedging has already been turned down a lotteacon7 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 2:33 pmugh. I feel like we're back in the stone age game.

this is attempting 'not hedging' for me XD
For voting, dunno. I will decide later. But not probably Vapor or ND.

Just for the record, this is true. I was triggered on his first game for the absurd amount of hedging emc did, but later realized it was just his style.e.m.c^42 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 2:38 pmOh, so far the hedging has already been turned down a lotteacon7 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 2:33 pmugh. It still annoy me the lack of votes as it make hard to analyze later.

I Don't like this post. Durga poses this hypothetical from the position of scum knowing ND is town, yet still pushes to lynch ND. This entire post smells fishey.Durga wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 5:19 am
I have a VERY distinctive scum meta so this is actually just wrong but okay. It's not relevant right now.
If I was scum and ND was town I'd looove him alive right now. What would be a scum motivation for lynching a town!ND here? All he's doing is spamming and being irritating. That's so lovely for scum. I'd sit back and let him do dumb shit. So please explain to me a) why pushing ND is bad and 2) why I'd be more likely to do it as scum (and don't say I like an easy lynch because that's lazy)
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
On phone, but I need to say this. Can someone please check my read of bozo from last game (when we were both scum) and put it next to damo's read of bozo here.damo666 wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2019 11:05 amExcellent content from Espresso and Vash. Townread both.

Damo, if you are scum with bozo I will have to sue you for copyright.
Re: M1007 — "Mafia, She Wrote" Game Thread
Yeah - VT faked cop claim, got desperado to shoot two consecutive scum, baited NK with real cop still alive, desperado proceeded to shoot godfather, one of the remaining got scanned by real cop + lynched, last scum surrendered XD
