Will GOT last season live up to the hype..
Will it,
I love Fantasy books and movies .
I remember watching lord of the rings part I and thinking this entire movie hinges on the Balrog on the Bridge. It delivered in spades.
Part II was just a lot of walking.
BUT the Return of the KIng was pretty horrendous if you remove the charge of the Rohhrim on to the Plennor Field. so that was a lot of hours for 2 awesome moments. Will GOT final season do the same.

Last season was a huge disappointment. It felt rushed and sloppy.
I expect more of the same for the final season.
Even rushed and sloppy, its still very good TV.
My friends and I are all in a Death Fantasy League for GoT.

It will live up to the hype, because a lot of people will die, and they'll die good deaths. But it will feel rushed. I also heard one theory, that after the white walkers are dead, there wont be a big battle in the end. Instead, Harrenhal will be rebuilt and made the new power center

Bran stumbles out of bed and finds himself walking to a waterfall where he sees Hodor having a shower, and realises that he's dreamt everything that happened since he banged his head falling out of a tower.

flavius I am really disappointed to see that. I feel like thats not a theory, it sounds lile an actual plot leak of some type

You don't care for the final charge at the black Gate? The beacons being lit? The conversation with Saruman?Smokey Gem wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 10:52 amWill it,

If the final season of GoT is anything like the Return of the King, I will be ecstatic.

Stannis rises from the dead in the woods near winterfell. The night king reanimates him as the prince who was promised.
Stannis rides the undead dragon and slaughters all of the free peoples of the vale

Well, we had vastly different opinions of that movie. I still like Fellowship best, but there were more good moments than that in the movie. Its the 3-4 separate endings that really killed the momentum.BUT the Return of the King was pretty horrendous if you remove the charge of the Rohirrim on to the Pelennor Field. so that was a lot of hours for 2 awesome moments. Honestly, I'm going into it expecting it to be absolute shit, like the last season was. I only really care because this is likely the only way I'll ever know how it all ends, and I've invested far too much in the books to not know.
The show has been bad since Season 5. Probably a half dozen amazing episodes sprinkled across the three seasons have kept up the hype.

season 6 was riveting. agree though that s5 and s7 were pretty low quality writinggoldfinger0303 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2019 4:00 amWell, we had vastly different opinions of that movie. Okay, most of the half dozen amazing episodes I mentioned were in season 6 :)
Re: Will GOT last season live up to the hype..
the shows appeal has pushed it further into fan service and settling for cheap solutions
Re: Will GOT last season live up to the hype..
So much buildup, I'm concerned they try to resolve it too quickly because Martin is bored. There aren't many series this involved that resolve in an appropriate pace.
Then again, Martin is a master, so what do I know.

It was GREAT, >LOVE< the politics in Winterfell, and I COMPLETELY FORGOT a certain someone had a certain family name, who would get mad at another certain someone.
