MAFIA 44: 'DREAMLAND' GAME THREAD

Thamrick's scumread of me appears to be based on three quite outlandish assertions:

1. That I am the Assassin, and that despite not knowing my team-mates at the outset, by D2 I'd managed to work out that Xorxes was the Godfather, and I decided to lynch this essential Mafia role, to get myself some towncred.

2. That I used my Lazy Cop scan item on Worcej, and found out that he was my Mafia team-mate - and my response to learning this was to immediately expose him and get him lynched.

3. That despite my well-documented short temper, I had the coolness and patience to wait until D5 to use my gunshot, rather than attempting to dayshot the Alien earlier in the game.

This is what Thamrick seems to think I have done in this game.

Ezio - probably scum - no way he's NK'd and the only way we figure out his alignment is by lynching him D9.


Vapor - xorxes asked if Vapor had ever been scum before. Weird in that Vapor was scum with xorxes in the game he was scum. Could this have been a signal from xorxes to Vapor they were scum together again?

Vapor talking about the assassin D1 feels weird. Like there's no pro-town reason to say this. Doesn't necessarily mean that Vapor's scum, but

Then another from Vapor. The "his team hates him" part comes across as genuine to me. Just reads to me like Vapor actually is assassin and trying to tell Ezio to retract if he's scum.

This also gives me . Vapor's explanation for using the vote manipulation ray the way he did. Thought Jamie would be "contacted and forced to place a vote on Moscow during night." Vapor has played enough times to know votes aren't cast at night except by mafia. Then there's this... legit exasperation from xorxes that the vote manip was wasted?

Though there is this: Vecna shade


Jamie - Vecna hard defends Jamie from the start, particularly in the Squigs interaction. Then Squigs gets the NK after he scumreads Vecna as well. Assassin is a super valuable role for scum. They'd definitely want to protect assassin.

Jamie gets lots of credit for his vote on xorxes and his scan on worcej. I'm not convinced he deserves it all or that it 100% clears him. He voted for xorxes not knowing his alignment. If Jamie is scum, it's a win-win scenario. If xorxes actually is scum (which he was), he gets massive town-cred and probably rides it to endgame. Jamie has been known to be willing to bus, so even if he suspected xorxes was scum, he probably wouldn't have minded. If xorxes is town, it's a tempting opportunity to lynch one of the better town players we have on the site. He also has a pretty easy out in saying that I was asking him to lynch him and he trusted my reasoning.


ghug/LQ - reading D1, LQ just comes across as SOOO towny to me. ghug seems very at ease currently. I'd honestly be pretty surprised if this slot actually is scum.


Neph - Very early in D1, called Vecna "hard scum". Obviously, if Neph is assassin, he doesn't actually know that Vecna is scum, but as assassin, I feel like you'd be more tentative about potentially lynching a teammate.

Notice the verbiage. Quas IS town, (Vapor) IS town. Jamie LIKELY town. Also, Vecna spent SOO much time setting Jamie up as town.

tl;dr

Jamie and Vapor are my top 2 candidates for assassin.

I'm targetting Jamie as I think there's basically a 0% chance that he's the lynch in lylo.

I'm sorry if I'm misplaying this item. I'm trusting that if I'm wrong, you guys will be able to figure it out. Sorry that I'm not clearing ghug and he's an easy mislynch for scum if he's town. Use your best judgement. You guys got this!

I ran out of time. I really do think D1/D2 is your best bet for finding assassin, so focus there.

Pay attention to Vecna/xorxes/worcej's actions. Best bet to find assassin is likely through their actions since they knew assassin's identity.

On the dusty plains of Nevada Ashkii sat staring at his holy herb. In the distance he saw a group of soldiers walking back towards the base. He knew he had to do something. Something to reveal the unseen presence still haunting the land and bringing violence to the people.

Ashkii leaned back and injested the herb. Minutes later the soldiers approached. Ashkii was unresponsive and they executed him for trespassing on government land.
