I got more to say about this game. Im just getting started.

Read through once... nothing jumped out as really profound.
But these thoughts to start any discussion that they start:
a) Jamie and Brain's interaction is unusual. They are both reactive and volatile, usually, and both have indicated that they are toning down? I sort of see that here, but didn't like the voting for each other part.
b) emc IS very talkative. Not really contributing content, but it IS early. Someone asked about whether this might be coached.... but the QT is not open, right?
c) ND is acting different. I don't recall the downtown accent before. But ND gets a lot of flack from people early... maybe drawing attention to himself is a way to avoid attention?
d) Why hasn't Ezio called for a no-lynch?

I'm gonna vote for a non-poster who usually is a big poster... for now.

Putting all my thoughts together in response to LQ

I am 100% hurting the game less than someone like Cfox. (Break) Right now I don't really have any strong reads and I dont have the time or motivation to go sort through all the spam to find real content. Overall Jamie seems like he's more chill than usual (break) but he did have that one outburst at DT or ND maybe? I dont remember (Break) but it did seem suspect to me when Brainbomb and Jamie voted together for like 2 seconds only to then vote each other at some point after that. I think Brain went right to Jamie. The new guy EMC is talking way to much to be scum on day 1 with no coaching. DT seems (Break) abrasive, i was glad that durga dropped becuase shes the worst but it looks like DT will fill that role.(break) Ezio seemed more motivated than usual for a second, which told me he's town becuase he can't get shot and killed by the desperado, but he's since tappered off. Something else about DT was that he told Jamie he wasn't voting, he was voting for LQ on (Break) accident but he had still already voted for THDfrance. Either way he was lying. (Break) Xorxes, Ghug, and RDR are unimpressive so far, but i am too and I assume they are for the same reason I am, the spam from Cfox, ND, BB and others needs to stop. I was prepared for like 35 pages day 1, we're at 50 and we've still got like 18 hours left.

you don't need to sort through is the thing. I've even started to make ketchup posts for ppl that are busy (like you!). Just posting these thoughts you have at the time you have them goes a LONG way towards helping the rest of the game, as minor as they may seem. I don't know if I *agree* with all your analysis (a brand new player as a wolf is often unencumbered, and if they're getting coached they might be MORE inclined to post then they would as a villa since nobody is helping them). Also I think DT said he wasn't voting for ME if my memory is correct. But either way just posting this shows that I don't think you merely were going for the LHF and going after DT is showing guts

just post stuff even a fifth or a quarter the size and effort of this and it'll go a long way towards convincing people you're town :)

Breaks were me being petty and every time I had to set my phone down to work I type (break). I could see where EMC might be consitered unencumbered, but it took like 4 games of me playing before I drew scum and even then I was quieter than I should have been. He said he wasnt trying to vote for you after, but he also said that he hadn't voted when he had cast a vote for THDfrance and an accidental one on you.

At the point of typing this, you're probably catching up with the thread right now, but you'll see this eventually.

For most of the other players here I've read them in a past game at least once, and so know a lil' bit about them (vecna prefers overall analysis and trolling on side, brain likes to sorta-spam but has a lot of points and theories that have plausible evidence, rdr sticks out for some reason with a lot of excuses being elsewhere, cfox likes to spam for spam-idk about his ability to post with a serious tone, jamie likes to style his anger with flare and tunnel responses, and so forth...)

But don't know anything about you :D Not humor, level of seriousness in posting (Neph would be one of those more serious ones), type of analysis (gut feel, wording, poke-and-watch, all of it).

You also seem to be quite familiar with at least some of the other players, so thoughts? Comments? Anything?

Hey. I played in almost every mafia game from M18 to like M32 I think. Then I got busy with school and a couple other things so dropped off. And now I'm back. So yeah, I'm familiar with most of the old players but not those who started playing here after I left. For example this is my first game with crimsonfox and lordquas. As for posting, feel free to form your own opinion of me but I'd say I'm generally pretty serious when I post. I don't post the most but I like to think that whenever I do post, I at least contribute to solving the game.

You are killing me. Please try to read the game. DoubtingThomas reasoning seem very succinct to me. If you read his lost right before, or follow the general context of the thread - this was a reaction to thd voting ghug, to which DT replied “NAGL” and then followed with the explanation you quoted.

hmm I checked and you're right I misremembered what he said

but were you active as a town in your first games? I, for one, was a wolf in my first game and I was relatively active (well, for a new player, and that was partially because I end gamed)

it's really just a person by person thing and I wouldn't put much stalk into that as a read either way is what I'm saying. I think emd has been townish independently of that so

My first game I didn't post a bunch, I made it to the end, my lack of posting is probably what got me to the end. I had no clue how to hunt or what i was looking for

I will only vote for CrimsonFox or e.m.c^42 as long as they are voting for themselves.

That's kind of lazy. We all know their votes won't end up there, so they are basically in the same position as the no-voters, only more showy. If you are saying you will change your vote when they make an actual vote, then it's not even very pressury, and it actually gives the wagon two false votes instead of just one.

I did not say what I will do when they change their votes.

Alright, so I see the followup post about the vote-switching. I admit I didn't see it before now. It still seems more of an afterthought - if this was DT's main argument, why didn't he include it in his first post concerning the matter? But I'll grudgingly agree that the post I posted about makes a lot more sense with the followup.

It is my fault for not reading closely, but in my defence I maintain my reasoning based off of just that post is valid.

@quas nice to meet you too. As for your question, it seems to be a reasonable conclusion that a mafia would lie about experience in order to play dumb and be excused from not scumhunting. But there's no reason town would lie about that - or definitely less of a reason, anyways.

After skimming everything, my strongest scumread is definitely ND. I pointed out early how he was acting all weird and silly, very untypical of him. He then rests a vote on Jamie for "not acting right". Later pops in repeatedly to say jack-shit besides some jokes which I suspect were some lame attempts to piss Jamie off. After Jamie tells ND to fuck off, ND unvotes, apparently satisfied and no longer scumreading Jamie? Like tf is going on here. Go read ND's posts on peterbot, it's horrid. He's basically been here a lot but contributed very little, majority of which has been nonsensical.

I'm also uneasy about Brainbomb. Why is he townreading me so hard so early? Maybe because he knows we're chill with each other and it would make me townread him? Tom correctly pointed out the flaw in my not considering the full context. Yet bb decided to just accept what I said? I don't like it.
