Born before the signing of the treaty of Westphalia (24 October 1648) as referred to in the Monty Python episode "Dennis Moore", the title character of which you may most prominently remember as a Robin Hood knockoff, although his particular idiom involved stealing flowers (known as lupins) from the rich and giving them to the poor, which ended up not helping them very much, as he had probably confused them for tulips!
