Red's entire ISO is basically two points:
1. Damo bad
2. Give all potatoes to Damo and it is kind of like getting a 2-for-1 since the potato might explode

TBH I like this reasoning for how to use the potatoes and kind of wish I had thought it through a bit more. They're kind of like vigilante shots if you squint hard enough.

Curious to see what D&W says about his lie and how it might factor in here.

My biggest holdup with assigning scum motivation to Dip's actions is what the payoff for scum would be. How does saying that he gave a potato to Red work to get Red killed if Red is town, or work to protect Red if Red is mafia?

It links the two players in a sloppy way that does not to me speak to teammates.

So either T-T or T-S.

But if one is scum, must it not be Red? Because again -

The only useful thing about this situation is that you need to know exactly how many times I've lied about giving people potatoes, or to hang a scum. If I tell you everything, then I end up dead and my play is useless.
Basically, me telling you what I've been up to is a guaranteed death, and the only way that I survive and/or my play succeeds is if I don't tell you anything and I don't end up hanged.
On the other hand, I have a decent chance of being hanged if I don't tell you, but that doesn't make any difference, because even if I do have a chance of not being hanged if I do tell you, it invalidates everything I'm doing and even then I have a decent chance of being hanged tomorrow.
So, you must determine for yourselves not to hang me today, otherwise another town ends up dead and you have no way of tracking potato mech, given the fact that you don't know when I lied, except about having thrown red a potato.

no, I can't, because I chose to reveal that I was lying on a day when I can't make EoD anyways, so the only way anything like this would work is if I don't die today.

Whatever his plan here is, revealing it is certain to get him killed, so he is asking us to trust him and give him some time to get a payoff for it.

I don't think giving him a day is a hard ask, personally, especially when I don't really buy that there is any scum motivation for his actions.

I believe that I do.

If I have understood it correctly, I am one of only a small number of people in the game who could have understood it. It likely makes D&W town because I cannot understand a possible scum motivation.

However, if I have understood it correctly, then I am afraid I also understand why D&W cannot explain the full details, and it would be sub-optimal for me to explain on his behalf.

Regardless of the above, I do not think D&W has got all of the scum team correct. However, ##Vote Red Neurax is probably one of the more likely.
