Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
Unsure what about my question was suspicious. I just wanted to hear some thoughts from Chaqa while he was here.bo_sox48 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 8:10 pmThis is a really funny question from Dream and if Chaqa flips scum I will be taking a hard look at Dream next.Chaqa wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 5:33 pmCompletely unbothered. This is pretty normal for games I play in, and it's also part of my playstyle so I don't get night-killed.DreamTrawler wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 5:32 pm
How do you feel about the fact that so many people are scumreading you?
Chaqa, you don't usually play to the literal minimum requirements, and while I cannot even begin to understand what having an infant at home requires I don't believe for a second that your increased activity is due to anything other than me pushing for your demise. Claiming that you are completely unbothered by it seems rather disingenuous when one can look at your activity before and after I openly stated I was coming after you for making exactly 5 posts and exactly 1 unjustified vote on the first day of the game.
It would be much easier for me to believe that you're town if the people who are voting the one formerly known as worcej or Red or those who voted for a lurker at some point on day 1 were remotely interested in voting for you, but for some completely mysterious (you're mafia) reason, I can never seem to get any tangible momentum going.
Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
at the time I didn't really understand what dip was going for, why I should switch to mimi, and not myself or something, but in retrospect I understand that he wanted me on mimi so it looks like we tied. But I was sure that my vote wasn't shown on the endscreen, so I didn't understand why he wanted me to switch to mimi, because for me it was the same for the total votecount.yavuzovic wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:54 amCan somebody summarize the fabricated tie you tried to make on D1. I tried to read but it's impossible to read the entire day in one sitting. I read kak's couch potato claim and and end of day messages, I can understand why you would tie it but it seems like there was no consensus for it.
Given Kak's vote was null, Dip's switch near the EoD breaks the tie and makes ND the lead, and only leaving to someone else after ND wagon attracts another player. This is strange behavior especially since himself is the second leading wagon.
But yeah, if it wouldn't have been shown in the endscreen, then, if I switched to mimi and it was looking as if the two wagons were tied, but ND still got yeeted, then it would've been very logical to assume that I was telling the truth, even when it wasn't shown in the endscreen
Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
hmm ... seems like the probability that there is one mafia between mimi and bozo is higher with this. Well they can't be both mafia, that we know at least, or someone absolutely lied about the sweet potato, and is currently silent, just wanting to wait who reacts in which way.bo_sox48 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 2:03 pmOn the whole I’ve gotten a pretty fair town vibe from bozo and mimi alike, but this got me thinking about how the mafia team could intelligently, with full knowledge of the potato mechanics, could believe they can afford to fearkill ghug. I came up with four options:Kakarroto wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 9:10 amhmm, usually I'm not a nk target, mafia often thinks I can be misvoted. I guess they thought that mimi is new enough to fall in the same category?DreamTrawler wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 12:15 am
Mimi or Kaka to disrupt the information flow about the whereabouts of potatoes, or Bozo who was compiling the whereabouts of potatoes.
Thinking about it, I was only nk'ed N1 (or rather doused and later set aflame) by brain because of Chaqa, in the game with many cops, because Chaqa thought I would notice that he was mafia that game. Guess it's a slight town point for him that it didn't happen this game? But he could've been overruled.
Anyway, bozo was probably a good target too. Maybe mafia guessed correctly that he would get the safe potato? (ugh, why did my brain automatically imagine a safe made out of potato when I wrote this? That's not a very good safe) Bozo was kinda high on the town list, I think, so maybe mafia didn't want to risk hitting the potato?
I mean, another option would be that bozo is mafia, but I kinda doubt that. I mean, he would probably get much towncred for a phase or two if they hit a teammate that has that potato, but if bozo keeps surviving afterwards, we would notice that pretty fast and just vote him out.
Hmm. Yeah, it is a bit strange, thinking about it, mafia would love to get that potato out of the game as early as possible, no? Like a townclear now is much less valuable than a townclear in the later stages. So avoiding bozo for fear of hitting the potato is kinda a wrong line of thought.
Maybe it was a read of someone that lead to ghug's demise? Or they just thought that ghug was scarier than others? Hmm
a) the scumteam is comprised of some combination of people who aren’t thinking hard enough to realize that the only person that wasn’t potentially being saved was mimi, because mimi had the sweet potato and passed it to bozo.
b) the scumteam is made up of a group of people that decided they don’t care about the sweet potato.
c) mimi is scum, so the mafia team knew where the sweet potato was going and knew how to avoid it.
d) bozo is scum, so the mafia team knew where the sweet potato was and knew it was out of commission.
I could easily believe option a), especially in a game where more experienced folks like worcej or Chaqa just as two off the cuff examples haven’t really put in any effort but have the background here to fearkill and the experience to take the lead in those conversations. I don’t buy b) at all because it’s just stupid. The last two options also make some sense in a vacuum and, in either case, would explain why the scumteam felt comfortable fearkilling one of the more obvious targets in a game without PRs. Knowing where the sweet potato landed is a wealth of knowledge for one night.
Then again, if both are town, the ghug hit would make sense too, since I doubt that mafia thought that he would get the potato over others tha tlooked more town. Well at least from my perspective looked it like ghug didn't ooze town here. Right?

Will - feels like he can change his opinion here on a dime. He early declared a (probably soft) town read for Bunny and me, and after a bit that completely vanished. Other examples of that is all over his game. Sure, it's good to not tunnel and have an open mind, but Will seems to be another extreme from his last game, where his reads looked pretty frozen. I think he very well could've changed his approach from last game so to not fall into the same track.
Red - I don't like how he blocks all information from his reads, that's either unhelpful town or a mafia tactic.![]()
I do think though your townreads are quite fine. A bit different ordered, like dip higher and mimi lower, but I agree with them mostly. Hmm probably switch RD with Bunny.
Well lets see

Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
nah, I don'T think that Dream is mafia here. I veto thisControl V wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 4:54 pmMore likely mafia off PoE and expecting more wolves to be wolftelling.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 9:11 amI think most of us don't have any plan, we just wing it. The more you let go of some restraints you have, the more natural and intuitive the game becomes. Maybe that's not your style for the game, but going away from having strict thought out plans to just be natural helped my game (at least i think it did)Red Neurax wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 12:32 am
idk man. i have revealed my suspicions of control v but i don't think there's much to go off on anybody as of right now. for me at least, i don't have a real idea of what a good plan is
haven't seen much of paste too, as a new player here (though experienced on other platforms), so how would you go on to have a deeper look? Mine is normally just asking that person, but I think you should do more too if someone is sus to you.
So in that thought of train: @Control V what are your thoughts about Red's suspicion of you? Do you think Red is more likely mafia or town? And, since I can't remember you saying anything in that regard, what are your top town and/or (best and) mafia reads, currently?
I Still trust Bunny with Jamie second place.
Dream is still a wolf and I need to figure out how to yeet them today.
nah, I noticed you posted, but I felt no impact from them, no whoomp, it's pretty like foodcoats, where I know posts happened, but there was just no impression.

I like the three current wagons, Red have been avoiding giving opinions educational is scummy. And Chaqa and Worcej didn't made anything to get a townread which they usually do as town.
I would add Control and Yav to my vote list for today.

I'm pretty sure dip is town. He is chaoticly chaotic, I don't see any maliciousness from him, it's much more comparable to a struggle of a headless chicken, which I mean not in any bad sense, but like, someone who has no agenda and no plan, not even a map of the current area, and tries to figure stuff out or what sticks
