Saw he was born in St. Pete and went back to look at the stalemate line. Interesting the map puts the line between St. Pete and Moscow. Of course, many southern stalemates don't include St. Pete. But then, why are Livonia, Prussia, and Silesia colored blue, since they aren't required either?

Great pick! I had entertained the notion of choosing him before, but he didn't occur to me this round.

The idea behind the stalemate line is that there are 17 SCs on each side of the line. Since Livonia, Prussia, and Silesia aren't SCs, they aren't considered part of either side so they're part of the line itself.

Interesting pick and fun round. I think I’m a few hours (at least) behind most of the posters here but I’ll try to get a new round up soonish.
