Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
Often times we gain a lot more immediately tangible information by forcing scum to either cleverly avoid or wagon someone without tons of connections on day 1 than we do by wagoning a high poster with lots of connections that don't make much sense in a vacuum, which is exactly what all the information we have on them lives in until later in the game. The challenge that comes with that is lining up a mafia lurker (or more than one) so they actually have to care. If we just line up town lurkers, the mafia lurkers, and anyone on the mafia team that cares to talk, don't really have to try that hard.DiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:21 pmthis is something that regularly happens
but do we wagon the player who lurked the entire day, then showed up to tie at eod?
no, we do not.
why?
I have no idea.
(referring to m1034 again)
That's why I try to pressure lurkers, but usually it goes nowhere because the big posters all get sidetracked trying to find a reason to scumread one another.
I'd move my vote to any one of ND, Kaka, rdr, or Chaqa but I don't want your dumb wagon led by dumb people to be in the lead. I don't know the other lurkers and don't know if I will get a read on them whether they're here or not on day 1, but if there's a good reason to jump on them I'm happy to go that route too.

Outside of the top 5 posters (Jamie, DW, Will, Bunny, me in that order currently), who do you feel is most town and why?

red neurax lurks a lot and is generally hard to read, which is annoying
I have no idea who Control V is

You're a damn sight more active than Worcej or Chaqa or RDR or Red Neurax or Brainbomb or Control Five. You're in the middle of the participation bandings.

Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
bozo (who is actually my top town anyways)
first of all mostly vibes but what else can you expect from day 1
more concrete his focus on whether town should give info on potatoes feels towny since he hasn't actually given info yet; i think if this were an attempt by scum to draw information from town he would provide a data point to make it more likely for others to join in. generally his posting feels genuine and from a town perspective imo
once again though mostly vibes

Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
also I honestly agree with bo about voting lurkers, there are so many that it would be easy to skate by and have one or two mafia teammates handle the posting.
##vote worcej
who has 0 posts currently. Will flip once people start showing up.

Yeah Worcej is not a joke inclusion on that list. He has yet to make his first post, however.bo_sox48 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:37 pmDidn’t even know worcej was playing lmaoJamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:32 pmYou're a damn sight more active than Worcej or Chaqa or RDR or Red Neurax or Brainbomb or Control Five. Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
going by this definition of highest posters (which i think is nonstandard) it would be damo. he and bozo are in a little mech bubble of their own which i think indicates a towny perspective. imo scum - especially in a game with many low posters - would have better things to do than try to work out math to match figures that someone else has already done.DiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 9:34 pmactually it's jamie, me, bozo, you, DreamTrawler in that order

so yeah never voting damo or bozo today prob

Re: Mafia round 93: hot potato! (game thread)
Is there a case to be made for throwing all the hot potatoes at the most likely daykill with seconds left in D1, thus rendering the game a Vanilla game?
Ghug would probably go for that. He loves Vanilla.
