Actually, no. I was being a bit lazy and now that I’ve read properly… I think the special potatoes should not claim by default. I’m also rethinking the hot potatoes… was it answered what happens if the DK has a HP explode at EOD? Does the DK pass to the next highest voted player?

Here is my official SP suggestion:

Whoever currently (D1) has the SP reveal during N1 that they had it D1, but not reveal who they passed it to.

Whoever holds the SP N1, reveal during D2 that they had it N1 (or in a N1 EON message if possible), but not reveal who they passed it to.

The D1 holder, if still in the game, can confirm the N1 SP holder on D2. Then the D1 and N1 holder are paired as not S/S.

This can repeat every phase, generating more pairs.

Also, this does not preclude the use of the SP to try to block a NK, if that is what a day SP holder wants to try to do.

While I like some elements of this strategy, won’t the person claiming they had the sweet potato previously immediately get targeted for a night kill?

Ideally you only post this at EON. But like Bozo pointing using SP to avoid a kill isn't the heat use for it, at least at first nights.

D&W was caught as scum in a previous game for being weird and inconsistent. Never ascribe to malice what can be ascribed to... um... scum!Diplomacy&Warfare.
