Did you know that potatoes only came in the 18th century to the country of Austria, and at the time they were thought as poisonous by many?

In Prussia, Fredrick the Great even needed to come up with a cunning plan to bring people to consider consuming potatoes; he planted them in a field near Berlin, then posted guards all around the field to get the attention of the farmers around. But those guards were explicitly told to ignore any potato thieves, or at least that's how the story goes.

After that time, potatoes became an important food source, and delicious dishes like Bratkartoffeln, Kartoffelsalad or Kartoffelpuffer were created and are since then a big part of European cuisine.

Also, while the humble potato is called "Kartoffel" in Germany, it is better known as "Erdapfel" (Earthapple) [or in some regions "Grundbirne" (Groundpear)] in Austria; which proves, once again, that Austrians have a better sense for naming things, than Germans.
I should just let you write my flavour for me.

Do the mafia have a factional nightkill?
Yes.

Do the mafia have a factional rb that blocks passing potatoes and/or exploding ones?
No.

is the cause of death (maf night kill that may or may not exist, hot potato, rotten potato, etc) revealed at EoN for each dead person?
No. I may refer to a type of death in the flavor text I write, but that should be considered to be for flavor only, and not indicative of the actual cause of death.

are the potatoes that people were holding when they died revealed?
No.

does the sweet potato's protection include the day kill?
Yes.

what happens if two or more players pass potatoes to a player holding the rotten potato during the same phase?
The GM will randomly choose one of the players passing potatoes to the current rotten potato holder to receive the rotten potato.

Incidentally: if you end up with more than one hot potato, you can choose to toss your hot potatoes either all to the same player, or to multiple players. In the latter case, the GM will randomly choose who gets which hot potato. (This could make a difference, based on the night the potatoes activate.)

do the amount of potatoes being passed influence this?

for example, if ghug has the rotten potato, and I pass two hot potatoes to ghug, and someone else passes one hot potato to ghug, is my chance of getting the rotten potato 50% or 67% ?

Yes, the probability is proportional to the number of potatoes passed. Your probability of getting the rotten potato in the situation mentioned is 2/3.

Germans call it Tomate, we call it Paradeiser (stems from 'paradise', as in fruit/apple of the paradise)

Germans call it Sahne, we call it Schlagobers (which both means 'whipped cream')

Germans call it Aprikose, we call it Marille (which sounds much better, even when the english also use it as 'apricot')

Germans call it Hackfleisch, we call it Faschiertes ('minced meat' in english)

Germans call it Brötchen (a diminituive use of the word Brot which means bread), we call it Semmel (both mean 'roll' or 'bun', although there is a slight specific form a Semmel needs to be in to be called that way)

Germans call it Stulle, we call it Schnitte (a Schnitt is a cut) (both means 'slice of bread')

Germans call it Berliner or Pfannkuchen (which is NOT a pancake in this case), we call it Krapfen (it describes a sweet baked fist-sized pastry often filled with marmelade, that's similar, but different from a doughnut) (it's primarily eaten during Faschingszeit, carnival, but can be eaten round-year)

Germans call it Karneval, Fasnet or Fastnacht, we call it Fasching (and yeah, it's the carnival season before the 40 days of fastening before easter)

Germans call it Wiener, we call it Frankfurter (which both describe a sausage which is primarily filled with pork or beef, less fatty than a hot dog) (the creator, a man who came from the city of Frankfurt, travelled to Vienna to open his company there. An old tradition, comes from the time where there were big guilds, where some craftsmen, after their training, leave their home and travel the lands, to maybe set up shop in a different area, but especially to learn all different kinds of techniques in their craft; they just pack some of their small things, then travel around, live in other shops and work there for their living expenses and to learn. Well, this person, Johann Georg Lahner, came to Vienna, and learned here, and created this sausage. He called it after the city he came from, 'Frankfurter Würstel'. In Germany, they just disregarded this, and called it for their origin city, Vienna - since it's Wien in german. After a bit, that wrong name came to the english speaking world, and now call these kind of sausage Wiener ... among other things.)

There are a lot, and I mean a lot more other things that are called differently, much more than this post can possible include. If you're interested, I suggest some internet search, like "differences between German and Austrian language".

As for the potato salad, there are different kind of ways to create it; mostly with different marinate. Like a mix of water, vinegar, oil, salt and pepper; this is the most usual here, at least in my experience. In restaurants, there is often a slight sprinkle of parsley or chives on top of it.

But it can be made with other things, like mayonnaise. It's not too common here and more a northern thing, but it's not like nobody make the salad here that way.

Some people like to add hacked onions, garlic, sometimes small cubes of bacon or cucumber. In south-eastern Austria, especially Styria, they prefer to use pumpkin seed oil.

I think I've heard that people in the rhineland area like to add apples to potato salad, but I might misremember that one. Haven't really tried that one, at least.

But yeah, there isn't really a differentiation between those potato salads namewise. It is called Kartoffelsalat or Erdäpfelsalat, depending on the region, but it's the same dish. Doesn't really matter what you add to the mix, as long as it is (mostly) cut potato discs with a marinade mix. It's so widespread we all think it's just the same dish. There isn't a difference like with Schnitzel, where it matters from which animal it comes, how it is made, and what you eat as a side dish.

(and oh god, don't even THINK of trying Tunke with any kind of Schnitzel, that is an abomination and every german creating such a thing should be tried in front of the International Court of Justice in Den Haag for those atrocities)

so evidently when this was posted there were 5 slots left

SIX is obviously meant to be S(IX), where IX represents 9 and S(n) represents the successor function

therefore foodcoats claimed there were ten slots, when there were only five. this is a direct contradiction, so he is obviously mafia
