This thread died down (all of the attention went over to 20Q #500, I think). How are we doing for signups?

What would be the time limit per move? If 2 days+ put me in although I'm more board 6 than board 1

time limit would be 1 or more days, depending on what the people playing want. so any game you're in will probably be at least 2 days/move

I could play if you really wanted/needed me to... but alternatively, I could offer some kind of commentary on the games? Would that be useful/fun?

it would be great to have commentary!

would it be done during or after the games? if during we would have to work something off-site so as to not interfere with the games but if after it should be fine to just put it in a thread here

I'm not particularly great at chess but I might be interested, would we be playing over forum or on Lichess?

One day per move, say 50 moves in a game, it's going to run for ages
Assuming it's a round-robin, so the calendar is known in advance, I would suggest that we start a new round every month, even if the previous round(s) are not completed still. That would mean each participant would be playing around three matches (six games) at the same time.

Anyhow, count me in!

this sounds good. in this case, i'll probably close off signups when we get to twelve so it doesn't take much more than a year

anyways, now that the tentative sign-ups are filled, what time works for people as a start date? April 1st would be the start of a new month but might be too soon, and if we wait until may people might lose interest by then, so would the start of april work or will it have to be later?

I would probably offer very light kibitzing of current games in this thread (pointing out which games look interesting, etc. - nothing that would recommend moves to players), and then I might write up analysis of a few games after they are over in a Lichess study (like I did for the team chess game).

probably there will be another thread for game information itself, but this should be fine

anyways, now that it is the beginning of the month, anybody who has signed up please confirm that you are still available to play and have the ability to play over lichess. once everybody has confirmed the round robin will start in a new thread, and matches will be determined for round 1
