This is all very interesting, DarthPorg. If Mimi is okay with it, maybe you could add a new sheet to the 20Q Google sheet with this information?

I'd also be interested to see a birthplace-only version of the map... I know that we've had picks born in Zambia and Chile, for example.

Also, I wish the Atlantic Ocean was given a non-grey color.
Oh, I just noticed Antarctica is missing from the map.
One of our picks was born there, but as I was doing more nationality based not birthplace, he got lumped into Argentina

It seems like the USSR picks were lumped in to Russia as well, I know we've had Kasparov for example.
Yes, Kasparov was lumped into Russia, as I was just working with the modern map. However, any Ukrainian, Estonian, Kazakhstani, or other nationalities once part of the Soviet Union were separated if it made logical sense. But Kasparov was born in current Russia and he's ethnically Russian, so he got lumped there.

Kasparov was born in current Azerbaijan, and his parents were Armenian and Jewish.

oh please do, i've been meaning to do demographics on the sheet for a while now, so if you're fine with it i'd love to make a section for it
I'm more than happy to upload it to a new section, or give the raw data to miminena so they can upload it. Let me know what is easiest!

another fun statistical tidbit that I made a subsheet on a little bit ago but had it private (it's public now if you want to check it out): J, M, S, C, A, T, and G consistently make up around half of first letters of all picks

But how many of them have Magyar-language Wikipedia pages?

it really is, Magyar language wikipedia has a lot of pages but not that many of the more obscure or esoteric ones. i'd reckon there's probably more or less an even split

Then I guess I didn't look close enough whoops. I'm dumb. I kinda just assumed because I knew he lived in Russia? Good reminder for me to always double-check.

And while we're talking statistics, here are the top ten games by number of posts (hosts in parentheses):

1. Game 128 - Multiball (Octavious)
2. Game 89 (Balki Bartokomous)
3. Game 384 - Multiball (loresend)
4. Game 71 (JECE)
5. Game 500 - Multiball (miminena)
6. Game 97 (JECE)
7. Game 62 (Bonatogether)
8. Game 379 - Multiball (Hominidae)
9. Game 79 (damo666)
10. Game 83 (Balki Bartokomous)
Removing multiball games and adding the answers:
  1. Game 89 (Balki Bartokomous): Nicki Minaj, 240 posts (guess on post #221)
  2. Game 71 (JECE): Blas de Lezo, 206 posts (guess on post #164)
  3. Game 97 (JECE): Dead parrot, 189 posts (guess, too late, on post #165)
  4. Unknown, super-mysterious game
  5. Game 79 (damo666): Sergei Diaghilev, 169 posts (guess on post #150)
  6. Game 83 (Balki Bartokomous): Kirk Cameron, 160 posts (guess on post #138)
That huge gap between the first correct guess in game 71 and the end of the thread was mostly Jamie compaining, ha ha

Game 62 was hosted by DougJoe according to the spreadsheet (not Bonatogether), so I'm not sure where the typo is there. Game 62 was only 88 posts long. Also, Bonatogether has never hosted.

Added the raw data. Leave it open to the public, please. I'm not worried about vandals, and there is a high likelihood I disappear from the site at some point for an extended period of time, I don't want to leave you all in a lurch when that happens. Plus, more people can continue the list past 500.

Ah, I should have been able to figure that out. Bonatogether did host a round, but hasn't won a game yet.
  1. Game 89 (Balki Bartokomous): Nicki Minaj, 240 posts (guess on post #221)

That huge gap between the first correct guess in game 71 and the end of the thread was mostly Jamie complaining, ha ha. Most of these long games saw the threads die after around 20 more posts, while that thread went on for around 40 more posts.
