Trump signs executive order to rebuild the Death Star

#1 Post by brainbomb » Fri Mar 21, 2025 12:30 am

On Thursday, Donald Trump sat before reporters as he signed an executive order to dismantle all form of education and replace it with a small moon sized space station capable of destroying an entire planet.

When asked for comment, Senator Marjorie Taylor greene briefly put down her meth pipe and mentioned that being able to control the weather and have a planet killer space station was insignificant next to the power of sheer stupidity.

Very funny Brainbomb.

I don't know what the USA believes in. Isn't this a good time to put all those weapons into use? Shooting Donald Trump between the eyes would be a morally good act.

Jamie is engaging in illegal speech according to his own beloved UK speech prohibitions.

The sad thing is that, what with the nonsense certain New World social media types have been spreading, some people may well believe that this is true.

But the reality is that there is no law Jamie is obviously breaking. I don't think he violates the Malicious Communications Act of 1988, the Communications Act of 2003, nor indeed the Criminal Justice and Police Act of 2001.

Most of the laws concerning illegal speach are concerned with libel, gross indecency, threats, or intending to cause distress and anxiety. There is nothing here that would worry the courts. It is quite clear that it is just a general expression of discontent. A very poor taste expression of discontent, I should add, but not an illegal one

I'm curious if we've got any elderly around does this time feel really bizarre and unhinged, or did it feel this way when Ronald Reagan got into power or when the world was on the brink of nuclear war?

I assume it *felt* different because while Ronald Reagan (who is one of my least favourite US Presidents due to his economic policies) was a right-wing populist, he did not come across as a lying psychopath, and did not invite people like Ivan Boesky or Leona Helmsley to become members of his Cabinet.

It's worth noting that experts in nuclear risk say that the risks now are worse than in the past, with the exception of a few notable incidents (e.g., Cuban missile crisis).

There are more nuclear actors, worse arms control, and new cyber threats. The Ukraine war remains a potent flashpoint. China's likely invasion of Taiwan will be another. Non-cold war actors like India and Pakistan could start a nuclear war that would kill billions globally. All of this could happen anytime, including by accident.

Trump boosters take him at his word that he's very concerned about nuclear war. I'm glad he's talking about it more frankly than other leaders in the recent past. But a mere three months into his term it's clear that US foreign policy is kicking off a dangerous rearrangement of nuclear umbrellas and a renewed period of proliferation.

What could the time hinge on?

When President Carter established the Department of Education, the US was #1 in education. After $3 TRILLION dollars spent, the US is now #40 in the world.

Yes lets be sure to put the ten commandments in every class and have walls with frescoes of Jesus feeding the masses on taxpayer dollars. That will up the math and science scores, they just need less meal plans and more jesus

Trump is fundamentally anti-Jesus in any case.

Jesus says "love thy neighbour", while Trump has systematically attacked and demonized immigrants, people with disabilities, communities of color, LGBTQ+ people, and women.

Where Jesus lifts up the poor, Trump exalts the wealthy. Where Jesus welcomes foreigners, Trump builds walls and threatens to deport. Where Jesus heals the sick, Trump tries to strip away their healthcare. Where Jesus speaks truth to power, Trump wields lies to maintain power.

Yo that's crazy. If you're going to quote the ten commandments, remember 'Do not kill." That was the moral law, no matter who it is. :!:

When President Carter established the Department of Education
President Carter advocated for the creation of a separate Department of Education, but it took an Act of Congress to establish the Department. The Department of Education Organization Act was signed into law by President Carter in 1979. Before then, there was already a Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, created by an earlier Act of Congress (in 1953). Under the Department of Education Organization Act, the education functions of HEW and other federal agencies were transferred to the new agency and HEW was renamed the Department of Health and Human Services.

For those who like to verify, you can access a pdf copy of the Department of Education Organization Act on the congressional website:

The fake right wing claim, amplified by neo-Nazi Musk, that Brian is referring to here, has been fact checked and is false:
