Hello fellow Romans! Apologies for my lateness, a funny thing happened on the way to the forum. It seems we are voting already?
Do you have no other observations?

What think you of the state of the game so far?

What is your verdict on the reign of Gaius Julius?
Well, I observe a lot of back and forth on who to vote for. Other than singling out lurkers (understandable, I suppose) I’m not sure what the main logic is.

And why is Senator Kakarroto slated for execution? As far as I can tell his only crime was speaking Latin. Surely Rome has not sunk so low as to punish her own mother tongue.

Gaius Julius… time will tell. I’m sure he will abdicate peacefully when his consulship ends.
Early concern for the joke votes on kaka.

I appreciate the D1 pass, Will. But tbh I don't mind if people vote for me even if I am new, this game is just me dipping my toes in anyway. (Though for what it is worth I am town lol)
Strange response? Maybe natural?

I would also like to ask you, DreamTrawler, how did you feel getting the game explained to you? Anything special you've noticed?

What do you think about the game overall. Is it fast/slow, do you think people are chatty or more withdrawn? Any surprised from the last game you've seen?

What are your thoughts about Will, and his stance to not vote for you for at least D3?
I think I understand the basics of the game. Still not super clear on D1 strategy - word count and such seem like an interesting tool but not anything concrete. I think interrogating lurkers makes sense but I have no idea how each player normally acts.

I think saying he won’t vote for me until D3 is… interesting. By D3 no one should be safe. Perhaps he’s trying to earn some goodwill (ha) from me? I appreciate one day of not being voted, but I don’t expect anything beyond that from anyone.

On that note, is it worth speculating who the Mafia will kill? Or is that just going to draw suspicion/influence their decisions?
And now Dream-kaka coaching?

Actually, the more I think about it the more suspicious the thing with Will is. I took it simply as a kindness to a new player, but since multiple people have called attention to it I am analyzing it from a strategic perspective.

If Will is town, he is a) shooting himself in the foot by ruling out a player who could very well be Mafia and b) putting a big target on his back. I say this because, I know that I am town - and the Mafia also know I am town. Therefore having one town member refuse to vote for another is a big disadvantage to them and they would have incentive to kill Will early.

If Will is Mafia, then it was a ploy to not get me to vote for him out of thanks perhaps? But that is a little obvious. Of course, not voting for me means nothing in that case as I can be killed off in a night phase.

But also maybe it was just a way of being nice.
Very interesting continuation. I think this was after ghug pointed out how Just always does this for new players.

For that, I also want to ask Dream, how do you feel to be widely town read? Were you afraid that you were the NK tonight? Do you think people might just gloss over you?

What are your three big thoughts/guesses in this game (don't involve a mason speculation here please)? Like who's your biggest mafread? Your biggest townread? Who do you think should be resolved quickly before we are out of time? That kind of stuff.
I wasn’t super worried about getting killed because as a newbie I’m probably a liability to the town lol. I do feel like people might gloss over me but seeing as I know I’m town I’m fine with that.

Also, I just went back and read over what happened at end of Day 1 again.
Damo switched to Jamie and then back to Red. Didn’t really have a good reason other than “Red voted for Bunny who is town.” Bunny says Damo is town. Ghug tried to flashwagon damo. Jamie also suspects damo. Both people damo voted for during Day 1 (Red and D&W) turned up dead and both were town. Even after this, damo asks for the remaining Mason to reveal themselves. I find that pretty suspicious.

Based on this I strongly suspect damo as Mafia. If this is true, Ghug and Jamie are probably town. If damo does turn out to be Mafia I would be suspicious of Bunny as well, and maybe also Will.

I am going to ##vote damo666
Continued kaka-Dream interactions

hmm, alright.

Just, what would it say about ghug and Jamie, if damo flipped town?
Jamie has been pointing at damo for a while so if damo was town I would become suspicious of Jamie. Ghug I’m not as sure.

I also want the input of people on my thoughts of the chance that Will&Bunny might be our mafia team, especially Jamie, damo and ghug.

Will was very protective of some people, and easily gave out townreads. Jamie, Red and dip if I remember correctly. Oh and Dream I think. Two of them already flipped correct.

Can you revisit their (Bunny&Will) discussion and give me a response how you think about that possible pairing? Am I just seeing things or did I actually notice a true connection?
Btw - why would the Mafia give out accurate townreads?
well, there are more town in game than mafia. There are also connections that people can draw from mafia giving out reads, at least after they have flipped. If one mafia puts all their maf-buddies as their top, and all the townies into the null/maf reads, they will probably cause a surprise, which might get them flipped. If people then look at those connections, the whole team is caught.

So mafia needs to be truthful about the alignment of at least some people. The crux behind is, that mafia KNOWS they are town, so then they have to create reasons of why they 'think' they are town. Which could lead them to be caught, if done wrong.

THAT'S why I was so suspicious of Will, with how he stated the read of Jamie, or why Red suddenly went from his third-worst to a 'pretty towny' read. I have to think now, if I actually believe the reason he stated. And I think he hasn't really explained how the transition for Red worked.

But that's also why I asked you, how you feel that everyone townreads you; if any explanation maybe felt phony to you, or fabricated. Any new thoughts on that maybe?
I think this was the end of the chain. I don’t yet see a Dream continuation, and that’s weird he stopped answering.

I think damo would reveal the most info just based on who was and wasn't pointing fingers at damo. I could also see a Bunny or Kak vote. I don't really have any thing to go off of for you or Ghug.
I assume you have a TR on Jamie

If so, can you explain it a bit?

Also kak as well, if you could
I don't feel like going back to reread posts from D1 but as said above I was getting a strong feeling that Jamie and damo are on opposite teams just based on how they were voting and interacting D1. Therefore if damo is Mafia I think Jamie is town.

I don't really have a read on Kakarroto - he's been leading the discussion on D2 but that's very convenient for Mafia to do. And has been moving around his vote, though he seems to consistently mention Bunny as possible Mafia (but also not voting Bunny).
Long dream-Just interacting.

I am suspicious of Kak as well. Leading the discussion is a solid tactic. And Kak voted Red all of D1 I believe.
Dream only had 3 night posts.

“Well…shit” after the flip

This one.

And one asking if the Mason should claim with something like 5 minutes left.

I think if dream doesn’t counterclaim ghug as the last mason, then I’m voting him as the most likely of (Dream, Just, kaka)

Would also like kaka’s answer to question above when he sees it.

Will go ponder for a bit and then read (but not quote…my god…the walls) kaka.

Dream - I do not get any maf-vibes from here, but not much pushing or trying to get info. Looks very laid back, uninvolved. I don't see much drive to get info. Could be mafia hiding, could be new on the forum and just not know what to do, trying to observe from a far distance. I suggest getting much more involved, town shouldn't just try to keep the status quo.
I believe you said something similar on the next page and I will reply when I get to it. I can understand heightened suspicion of me as the pool shrinks. However in the end I will just say I know I’m not playing amazingly. The truth is I really am not able to get a good read on someone over a forum compared to in person or to a game with extra mechanics like Among Us or whatnot.

I am trying to be involved but most of my contributions have been pretty useless in the end. The one strong read I had was damo and I was wrong there.(And I guess that Jamie was town, but I was surprised that damo and Jamie were on the same team).

This is a fascinating post.
yeah.

With the amount of teaching, I was sure that someone would come out and call it coaching. Like, Dream had three people explaining stuff to him. You, Jamie and me. I know Im town and we know Jamie was too.

But it seems that I was the only one that even considered that it could've been some kind of coaching?
As in, I was being coached to vote a certain way?

This is strangely dead for KiLo with 5 players left.
And I’m slightly concerned that if Dream is the actual mason based on his last minute question, that ghug made a brilliant bluff at EON.

Not going to entertain it for now. But if dream CCs, I’ll not be too surprised.
So - I am not going to counterclaim Mason. And the fact that no one has done so means Ghug is pretty clearly the Mason.

But I did say that EoN as a tactic. I was thinking about fake claiming Mason earlier in the night to see if anyone responds but I decided that was way too bold and probably unhelpful. However I wanted to prompt it right at EoN so that there would be some pressure and there would hopefully not be multiple claims, and this is exactly what happened.

(Obviously if you think I’m Maf then it seems like I am slating the Mason for a night kill but there is a whole day of voting before that)

OK, the blatant trap didn't work...but was worth trying.

I think kaka has had lots of strange interactions.

I think Dream is the most likely partner of either Just or Kaka.

I think Just is absent. And I’d hate to lose voting for an absent town, but as I’m probably voting him tomorrow if he stays absent, I’d rather not gamble it all today unless I have to.

My cards on the table are that I think you’re Mafia and this is a clever deflection to get people to start suspecting someone that they previously did not.

If I had to pick the second Mafia I would guess Kakarroto but that’s mostly because I think it would be kind of dumb if it was you and Will and you both weren’t present much in D2.

Also, I noted this previously but several people mentioned your name on their list of top 3 suspected. I did (though admittedly it was when I thought damo was Mafia and you two were connected), and so did Jaime, damo I think, and Kak. However, no one voted for you. I think it would make sense if Kak threw in your name to make it seem like he was on the same wavelength as me and Jamie.

Will isn’t here and wasn’t here for much of D2 so I really can’t get full info. I will definitely factor that into my vote when he returns.

I am going to vote for Bunny, I understand this looks retaliatory but I want to apply some pressure.
