So i have this theory that the 3rd and 4th people on wagons matters a great deal, its when a wagon actually becomes a wagon on days where there are lots of people. Its early enough to claim town credit if they flip scum and will make you less under suspicion than the first 2 people if the person flips town. This is when the majority of opportunistic scum and bussers jump on becomes they come off decently regardless of outcome. So people looking to come off good join then, and scum and new players usually want to come off good more so than others. Floodcoats is not a new player, so he fits the bill, I am staying here unless I need to switch at end of day.
This is reasonable.

I know after my data research projects there is a direct correlation between most scum players total posts dropping when compared to how many posts they make as town, and then there is also a correlation between longer posts with more words in them while also having less posts than usual; and quite a few people have these traits.

Examples like vecna is much more likely to post less as mafia, while doing half hearted catchups; followed quickly by a smarttering of scumreads he will throw out and it looks very much like his towngame but the curiousity of it is less evident.

Or spirit who tends to have big posts as both alignments but will hedge heavily in his huge wall posts when hes mafia.
This is a quack analysis.

Well ND was doing this thing where he was clearly scum reading me in a couple of his posts but only mentioned my actions and not my name. Then foodcoats jumped on me and cited ND as a quote in the post where he did it. I felt a connection a brewing, with FC seeing me as an easy wagon to board since ghug was on me with mimi and will getting antsy with me not saying the 3 words they wanted. ND is very low effort this game, while simultaneously criticizing others for not talking about the things he wants (talking about civ, discussing mechanics, etc.) and then he misread my spectrum post and I just felt it was all stuff I could read as scummy, but then I thought about past games with ND and this is just all stuff he does regardless of alignment, including that he scum reads me for no stated reasons. I backed out because I realized it all meant nothing really, in the context of how he generally plays. The low effecting it in isolation is probably more town indicative than scum indicative, but I still see him as mostly a coin flip. I feel better about FC being scum. That was most of it.
Although I didn't say it at the time, I voted for you because you said I was a non-poster when I had in fact voted, suggesting to me that you were not reading.

just get better at it and realize that people trying hard to act towny and being fake as fuck is what you should focus on instead.

I dont get why youre making this case though.

You never get involved day1.

This great concern for the common good feels like we should sniff you a bit more
As I said somewhere else, I agree that an engaged worcej is a scummy worcej. Chaqa has the same leak. They play hardest when they roll scum.

will's jumping all over the place mainly. Not necessarily AI, but still a bit weird and unsettling for me personally (lowkey feels a bit hedge-y?)... and keeping the vote after expressing distaste for it, doesn't feel logical. Could just be misreading things and just being a doofus rn though.

also when im mafia, i usually tunnel on one, hedge on the others. Currently im town and tunneling foodcoats though, so it isn't alignment indicative. But like I've said, I just forget when im mafia when i roll scum and remember again at night when i get notifications from the mafia qt
How do you tunnel someone when it has only been 24 hours? Maybe if it has been like 72 hours. But, 24? Come on man!

This is the way I see it: most of the replies are characteristically trash. That isn't to say they aren't valuable. D1 is a crap shoot, but it's always valuable in hindsight. Especially those early moments. Sometimes you get lucky, and a low hanging fruit will clutch onto some BS mechanic conversation or flounder -maybe even slip. I haven't found 'the thing' that piques my interest -yet. I'm not going to offer a 'town vibe' list like our illustrious Spirit of the Radio. In fact, I'm going to self vote. Maybe it will spark some more conversation, or maybe it won't. Maybe it's a placeholder or maybe it isn't. Maybe this is just a giant hedge. Either way, I'll be keeping an eye out for the thing that catches my attention.

The first 9-10 pages of conversation were offputting; not just them, it felt weird overall. At first I thought KingofThePirates was the scummiest of them, but D&W has not improved since.

That particular post was the straw for me because he "linked" people without giving a rhyme or opinion on anyone's actual alignment, and then included himself as one of the linked options. Which to me *seems* like he's being open minded, but for no reason. He's not actually hunting including himself there. He's appearing to hunt.
