The way I read it was that they wanted to kill people who try to impose their opinion on town, which is valid, although I myself disagree with it. I don't think it means anything about worcej's alignment.JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 4:00 pmWhat do you think of worcej’s plan to kill the non consensus pplmiminena wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:17 pmso most of my thoughts are just vibes atm but surekingofthepirates wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 1:55 pmHey red neurax, what do you think of the game so far? Anyone particularly piqued your interest/set off any bells (for town or scum)?
Same questions to you miminena
I'm getting good vibes from worcej's barrage of posts on p8, esp the clarification on the lie detector statement.
damo feels somewhat town to me, despite their horrible lack of joy and whimsy. this one is moreso pure vibes than my read on worcej
I have no real reads regarding scum yet, but I feel weird about anybody who hasn't given a lie detector statement yet, or hasn't explained why they won't give it. I also don't like brainbomb's unexplained vote on foodcoats, but from what I understand stuff like that is normal day 1?
everyone else is more or less neutral

I voted for ghug D1 last game and then I got D1’d, so I would be up to challenge the WDM meta again. As I said then, I cannot read ghug, so for me anyway he is a more positive EV flip than some others.worcej wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:19 amTo expand my position here, I volunteer these three specifically because:
- They are the least likely to entertain consensus outside of their own opinions.
- Collectively they are more likely to be left around until later if town and usually suspicion forces us to have to MK them too late.
- It's more interesting to eliminate "good players" on D1 than random MK's
##VOTE ghug
Nothing personal ghug! It’s worcej’s fault.

Oh right you were the GM lol.JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:41 amyes and no
I won’t vote players on their first game as a ‘you deserve a few days to get the whole experience’ type of policy
And not I did not shield Neurax the game he was scum, I believe I shielded him on the day before
Re: MAFIA 92 - The return of the Witchfinder General [GAME THREAD]
reading through the posts of people who haven't town claimed yet, and this stands out to me. it feels like Spirit is purposely evading the lie detector test.SpiritoftheRadio wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 12:09 ami am not and have never been a member of the communist partyJustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 12:05 amWell I certainly hope not, I’ve been trying to work on my towngame and getting D1ed is not itSpiritoftheRadio wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:58 pm
will and dip facing off early, knowing the best money is on one of you two getting day oned. prolly both nervous town, but I'd be betting on you if I were the guy
Why do you think we’re nervous town?
Also could you say “I am town”?
everytime you got D1ed, i cried. Everytime you didn't you were mafia tho, so... its really a toss up with you. I am on team let will play the game, and thus I shall be scum theorized with you until the end of time. alas
##vote SpiritoftheRadio
I'll probably move my vote when they claim town, i just want to get some pressure on them to ensure that they do

Re: MAFIA 92 - The return of the Witchfinder General [GAME THREAD]
This doesn’t make sense in the context of worcej’s argument which essentially is that Day 1 there is no scumminess. Maybe that’s my paraphrase, but I believe it is a correct observation.JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:48 amI disagree with killing someone just cuz its interesting and different

I am a firm believe in voting based on merit on individual games. Just because someone is ‘good’ or ‘bad’ in one game does not mean they will be the same in another
Hence we should vote ghug vecna or damo if and only if they are scummy

Re: MAFIA 92 - The return of the Witchfinder General [GAME THREAD]
Here’s a counterpoint. If certain players are frequently picked on to die early, they don’t have the opportunity to play the solvier late game. And I do think there are certain specific people at certain times in the WDM meta who become the “day 1 gang.” Worcej used to be in there. Dip&War is now. And then there are certain untouchables, like Vecna. And I think that, on D1, everyone is equally likely to be scum. So I like worcej’s idea of widening the net. I’m not saying it’s perfect but I think it’s important to remember D1’s arbitrariness and try to use that arbitrariness to town’s advantage and not fall into habits.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 2:52 amtrue, but day 1 seems a bit harsh (day 2/3/4, maybe, get some of their reads and views out in the open, give them some time to analyze and stuff,etc.)... I also think that day 1 is the only day we actually have a 'choice' in kills (in all subsequent days, we play off reactions to death, views that can get people killed, etc.) and everything is a blank slate (maf doesn't chat/plan/coordinate, no investigative role info, etc.), and we shouldn't just knock someone with basically a proven track record (by your definition of "good").

I mean
I’m confused as to the logic
Either A: they’re mafia and it doesn’t help them whatsoever
Or B: they’re town
Therefore we should t vote them because of it, we should just prevent people from saying they’re a VT
Could you say
“I am town?”
Thanks

Re: MAFIA 92 - The return of the Witchfinder General [GAME THREAD]
Something I’m thinking about with worcej here.worcej wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 3:08 amTo expand - I feel ghug, damo, and Vecna prioritize expressing their opinions over listening to others and operate with the expectation (not a malicious expectation fwiw) of people to follow/sheep them.
I think it's interesting to entertain eliminating one of them on D1 as their style is very good at being maintained as scum and also can be a liability to the town in later stages of the game.
On the one hand this plan suggests he is town because he is stepping out of line and proposing something (a little) radical.
On the other hand, I’ve observed before that worcej is at his towniest and most involved when he is scum - e.g. brain’s Baldur’s Gate game. Town worcej is kind of present and half-baked.
So worcej has both some town points and some scum points.
And if worcej is scum, he would bus hard and early, so he would be paired with damo, Vecna, or ghug.

I feel like I have never seen ghug make a post like this.ghug wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 3:20 amI don't like worcej's plan (regardless of whether I'm on his list) and I think his picks are odd given his motivation (I think damo is actually more motivated to build consensus than most and Vecna's consistently low activity makes him less of that game-driving "good player" than me used to be). I think it's coming from a good place, though, and I think the questionableness of the logic is generally a sign that worcej is letting us see his real thought process.
Are ghug and worcej scum together?

Re: MAFIA 92 - The return of the Witchfinder General [GAME THREAD]
This is a fallacy. Scum play very actively here; they don’t lurk. Only newscum really lurk on WebDip.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 3:22 amimo engagement is the big tell (while also taking track record into consideration, since iirc there are some players who notably pop off late game, such as chaqa). more messages is always a good thing. for looking at fellow town, it's more chances to see them rooting out mafia and more chances for productive discussion. for looking at mafia, it's more chances for a slip to come out, and more chances to learn the inner workings and reads and who they may want to eliminate, which can later be traced back.worcej wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 3:13 amWhat do you prioritize in looking for when choosing a D1 kill?kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2025 3:11 am
not just opinions, but experience and a strong ability to read others, as you yourself have said.
Note: scum is a shit answer here.

The above example would be likely to yield a reasonably helpful answer.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:26 pmhow does the lie detector work in a statement with multiple parts (eg. the one used earlier: "I am one of: Richard Marshall, Oliver Cromwell, John Lowes, Sara Lowes, or a vanilla townsperson."), or multiple statements that are all true/false (eg. the sun is hot, the moon is not made of cheese, I have a kriby pfp)? does having multiple statements automatically resolve to "inconclusive"?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:20 pmGM NOTE if this is a question for me, I am not clear exactly what your question is.

Of the people I read from the first five pages when I began playing, his postings were hard to remember even after reading them.
I see he is posting now, and I enjoy a good pressure cooker on the foodster. Sometimes great things happen when he gets cooked a bit. As long as damo doesnt have a gun that is, then things tend to go sour for him.
What can I say? I'm survivin'
