GM NOTE if this is a question for me, I am not clear exactly what your question is.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:17 pmI interpreted it as multiple assertions which are a mix of true/false. If everything is true, it'll go through fine. I consider it as a combination of logical statements, if you have mutliple statements that resolve differently, it'll be inconclusive, but if it's just a huge series of [OR]/[AND]/other operator gates, it'll resolve logically just fine (sorry for huge nerd yap, and i think we can resolve this quickly...). ##call GM?miminena wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:12 pmi guess it depends on how you interpret note 2, I read "Using the Lie Detector on statements containing multiple assertions will yield an incomplete or inconclusive result" as saying that if there were too many statements, it would definitely be inconclusive. I also have little to no reading comprehension so please correct me if this is wrong

... and by saying this, you're basically hard claiming it? Or is this sarcasm and I'm missing the point?

@miminena, softing PR means that you’re kinda hinting that you have a special ability, such as lie detector

Re: MAFIA 92 - The return of the Witchfinder General [GAME THREAD]
how does the lie detector work in a statement with multiple parts (eg. the one used earlier: "I am one of: Richard Marshall, Oliver Cromwell, John Lowes, Sara Lowes, or a vanilla townsperson."), or multiple statements that are all true/false (eg. the sun is hot, the moon is not made of cheese, I have a kriby pfp)? does having multiple statements automatically resolve to "inconclusive"?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:20 pmGM NOTE if this is a question for me, I am not clear exactly what your question is.

It depends on exactly the statement in question and the GM's reasonable discretion. Note that as per note (2) of the Lie Detector role, the Lie Detector can choose to ask about one element of a much longer post, it does not *have* to be the entire post. The above example would be likely to yield a reasonably helpful answer.kingofthepirates wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:26 pmhow does the lie detector work in a statement with multiple parts (eg. the one used earlier: "I am one of: Richard Marshall, Oliver Cromwell, John Lowes, Sara Lowes, or a vanilla townsperson."), or multiple statements that are all true/false (eg. the sun is hot, the moon is not made of cheese, I have a kriby pfp)? does having multiple statements automatically resolve to "inconclusive"?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:20 pmGM NOTE if this is a question for me, I am not clear exactly what your question is.

I find early gutreads to be a good way to get discussion rolling. i’m also trying to get this game as far away from a mech slog as possiblekingofthepirates wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:30 pmi think both of ya are barking up the wrong tree, throwing out gut reads before half an hour's even past. but it seems fun, so I'll join ya, woof woof :3DiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:26 pmwell I have a light scumread on you "off gut"JustAGuyNamedWill wrote: ↑Wed Feb 05, 2025 11:21 pmMy statement was not a PR soft, I meant it as “I will not vote miminena at the minimum until D3”

Hi.
As I have been chastised in the past for excessive profanity, beligerant behavior, and any reference to specific activities involving a type of playground equipment I will only be referring to other players in a positive light or through backhanded compliments.
Also I was totally roleblocked N0. For realsies.

Be cautious about whom you place your trust in
Trouble approaches swiftly this here town
Many of the townsfolk distrust strangers
You, of all people, are a stranger to this town
