The implication is there. I'll admit, I am not aware of your full range of views on the topic. But I am aware of what you present to me, which has its implications. You should've known when you displayed it to the public (and I think you did) that that is how it would be taken. However, I will ask for clarification, and based on that I'll edit my post. Do you mean to say free Palestine from Israel or free Palestine from Hamas? Forgetting Hamas, would you say that what Israel is doing is wrong?

I mean that the Palestine people should be free and should have their own state - that is, the "two state solution" that is often talked about.

So yes, I mean free Palestine from Israeli occupation and Israeli oppression.

Forgetting Hamas (whose tactics are wrong, and whose murder of Israeli civilians I do not condone at all), I would say that what Israel is doing is wrong, yes. It has been wrong since 1948.

I always rolled my eyes a little at religious arguments that "if you remove religion the framework of society crumbles" but we're kind of watching it in real time as our society is actively collapsing, and I wonder if the lack of religion is contributing to this.

I live in a broadly secular country which retains some cultural trappings of Christianity.

I love how one of the tropes of the right is "oh well if you don't like X, then you should move to another country".

Fluminator doesn't like how the vaccine was rolled out in his country, and prefers how it was done in Sweden.

Sweden is too white for me. I like the multiculturalism of Canada too much to move away.
If Canadians didn't fight back as hard as they did against governmental overreach I probably would have considered it though.

Can it really be said of any country that it is Christian? Culturally, perhaps some, but even that is being lost. I don't know that there's a good example of a truly Christian country at the moment.

Given the left's general support for mass illegal immigration (at least in the U.S.), I've only seen it as a satire of that. The fact that Taylor Swift said she'd leave the country if Trump got elected didn't help that image of the left, and the fact that one is more likely to hear "America is the worst country in the world when it comes to X," from someone on the left implies that the person making the statement would rather live anywhere else.

But I've not actually seen it as any more than a joke. "If you hate the state of this country so much, ya might as well leave." But it seems to me that those on the right are typically more likely to be those to stay where they are no matter what.
