Re: Deep dive: damo
this is a case which has an implicit and elided assumption that i'm scum, but you use the argument to then say at the end that if damo is scum, i am as wellDiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 10:58 pmDeep dive on damo:
Damo posted slightly above average, but had w/post above only that of the newbie. Damo's posts are low-quality and encourage people to spend time discussing dumb stuff with him, such as this:
Which is a completely absurd assumption that encourages bona to continue the conversation.
Damo's vote progression was:
no-kill>unvote>dargorygel>jamie>rdr>ghug>me>rdr
none of which were actually fully explained/logical, ranging from "clearly, voting no-kill in this setup will lead to us winning" to "I think the scum team is these three people for no reason"(then claims to not remember the reason) to "ghug doing this is town but rdr doing it is obviously scum".
And then there's damo's EoD, which contains a lot of scummy stuff. For example, the above quote, in which damo discusses phaser tactics an hour before EoD. Then there's posts like this:
As I said at the time, this looks very much like damo is trying to get jamiet to vote me (to prove this argument false), to cover for bona. Especially so given bona then +1'ed it.
Also note that damo seems to try to start new wagons/stir the pot every time that bona is a popular wagon.
"Well maybe damo townreads bona"
damo said literally nothing about bona except the time he claimed to solve with bona in that group. Oh, and that time bona and damo had a nice little conversation about night mech during EoD.
Conclusion: Probably scum
Most likely partners: Bona, Jamiet

To create momentum and to try to make his wagon look like it was gaining votes, therefore egging on others into joining. A little psychology, you know?bozotheclown wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 12:09 amWhy did you vote for DiplomacyandWarfare when you were already voting for him?

Re: Mafia 1033 - The Next Generation [Hidden]
Guess who actually brought the rdr wagon to 4 votes (making it the biggest wagon)?
damo
As I have said before, damo tried to start wagons on dargorygel and jamiet... while bona was a top wagon. He switched to voting rdr (at 2:08 to EoD, not at the end) to tie off of bona. When bona was tied later, he brought the ghug wagon to 3 votes to take votes off of bona. Then after the ghug wagon failed, he voted me to add someone else to the tie.
Wait, actually, that one's interesting. Damo didn't vote for Red, which would have made red a leading wagon.
Anyways, the Vecna wagon was doing badly and unlikely to ever have more than 3 votes, and the tied wagon was bona, so damo switched to rdr... which caused a bandwagon.
When will voted, there was 1 other vote on rdr. That makes that wagon tied for 3rd place after will's vote. How exactly did they start the rdr wagon?

Re: Mafia 1033 - The Next Generation [Hidden]
I have seen this behavior before on other sites and experience shows it is incredibly anti-town. Hiding info (what wagons are getting votes) doesn't help town as a whole. The only potential benefit is supporting your own wagon.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 12:52 pmTo create momentum and to try to make his wagon look like it was gaining votes, therefore egging on others into joining. Anyone who uses capital letters and full stops looks like Shakespeare compared to the way you write, Bonio.Bonatogether wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 4:31 ami didn't know this was a shakespeare productionDiplomacyandWarfare wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 12:24 amWhat a wonderful way to try to deflect suspicion off yourself.

Red Neurax made a bit of an appearance so let's do today what we should have done yesterday, and get D&W's bread, or whatever Chaqa would say.

Re: Mafia 1033 - The Next Generation [Hidden]
My initial suspicion was that his whole Doctor Who thing was a bit fake, but now my feelings come down to the EoD wagonomics I posted earlier (which you acknowledged). It looks to me like several people were desperate to motivate other wagons at EoD when D&W was a serious contender to be chopped.Red Neurax wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2024 1:52 pmwhat is the main reasoning for voting diplomacyandwarfare?
