It's going to be a close one, which feels a little dangerous given how many folks on both sides will have a hard time accepting the "wrong" result.

It's a bit like watching a World Cup final between Germany and Argentina. The satisfaction you get from watching one of them lose won't be anywhere near enough to offset the disappointment that the other lot won.

No matter the outcome there'll be violence. It's a sad reality.

What have you got against our German cousins?

France, Belgium, and the Netherlands... and yet so often it isn't enough

Euro 96 is the one that sticks most firmly in the mind, along (bizarrely) with Michael Schumacher. There's a general irritation that Germany does football better than us, and this is then combined with a bitter disappointment on those rare occasions that they don't and it feels like they've cheated us out of a proper competition. The overall effect is to generate a perception of German smug arrogance that is probably (but by no means certainly) imagined, that leaves you reduced to the level of a Welsh rugby fan.

Is anyone from the USA actually willing to post in here and admit that they voted for Donald Trump?

Can I just say, fuck Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris is a committed zionist and an international war criminal who supports American weapons being used to kill Palestinian children.

Both presidential candidates are horrendous people who ought to be in jail.

America is a failed state. It is not a functional democracy.

While I wouldn't word it quite this strongly, yeah it's sad. It's not a matter of choosing which direction we go, but just how fast we get there.

curious what it was like for y'all at the polls. As a poll worker today, it was pretty chill (granted I was stationed in an elementary school in a pretty nice neighborhood in a firmly blue state so a pretty narrow experience)! How about you guys? Any difficulties? anything interesting y'all saw? or was it all smooth sailing?

Probably time to rename this thread, Harris' chances are extremely narrow at this point.

Well, the people have spoken...

Congratulations, President Trump

Democrats, we were all about trying to get the MAGA Republicans to guarantee a peaceful outcome. Let's remind them how it's done....

Prayers for peace in the upcoming days.
