Yeah, this feels pretty close to lock-town. If this was scum theatre it is a thing of beauy, but the progression and realization of brain feels pretty grade A natural.

Asking to mass claim is different than asking people to counterclaim roses. One lays everything out on the table, and the other uses information given by the GMs in conjunction with other factors to try to determine who mafia might be. Also, the idea of mass claiming, however well intentioned, will lead to giving useful information to mafia. I’ll correct myself in saying that not disclosing that you have a gun isnt mafia indicative, but saying you have a rose when you actually have a gun probably is. Also people who chose D1 roses I’m highly suspicious of so any rose counterclaim is still useful.

I’m always cautious of churning data like this, as some information is only useful to town (such as who had a D1 rose, and how many town shots went off last night). Some information is useful to both (such as who shot Balki), and some information is mainly useful to mafia (such as who has the last remaining roses.) there’s a very high likelihood that all of the shots (save the NK) were from town, and the remaining mafia have the roses.

Yoyo reads very different this game then when I incorrectly blew up on him too.

Very mechanical. Only looking into the rose reason to be suspicious of people.

Ill not say its a lock for scum yet, but this type of posting in combination with a potential save-attempt by balki is not looking super solid.

The dude just played to his scum meta the first half of day1 and then his play became a lot more fluid.

That and he tried to buddy me hard.

I think the problematic issue is not walking it back its the abruptness of it. Doesnt seem to have much reason why it happened and speculating on why youd do it as scum is that it was motivated I dont think its as important as what you do next. It makes sense youd be mafia here however.

Are as close to clearing as anything else you could find so far. Im still hunting and rereading to just evaluate who I think is playing a scum game.

Today is not making it easy as there are a good number of question marks.

Im asking myself if vecna truly scumread balki; if town vecna really sussed out ghug and balki and then just gave up on it. Also seeing his energy major drop off since day 1. His end of day is okayish but overall his gimmick stuff wasnt great at proving he was actually fleshing out real ideas. When he dropped the gimmick I note him listing balki as scum for

“Talking at the game rather than contributing”
If scum vecna is saying this to a teamate he is trying to either distance or signal to balki to change it up as it isnt working.

At least thats the worlds I think are a thing.

For vecna to be town he would have had to give up on his actual scumreads and then just sort of stop trying since. Seems unrealistic

The first pickup is how ive nailed scum balki to the wall the last 2 and is a very genuine read.

Him then townreading me over my suspicion of him, but then not adding me to his town neighbourhood post was also something that I picked up on and found weird.

Im still not really sure why I came back and townread him. It was probably a mix of him changing up his playstyle (which was probably indeed as you state a result of me pointing out the reason for why he was scummy in my eyes), not particularly wanting to kill him d1 without being super sure, and some quantity of beer.

I dont really have a great sounding explanation, but it came from a towny place regardless.

I feel like part of town is playing to town’s win condition, and another part is lost in the magic of the mystery. Can we ground ourselves please? I’m having fun but I’m sensing a tension between these two groups and there’s room for both, but I think it’s important to find a balance so we can both have fun, and also achieve a win
