What does that actually mean Durga? Do you mean declaring yourself as town? If so, not even under extreme pressure?
I'm responding to Vecna

Bozo - yes, by voting for myself. I thought that much stronger than simply saying 'I'm a VT'.
Voting yourself with almost one hour to go and with people defending you doesn't townclear you Damo and it doesn't rule out that you can be a PR, as it could be a good tactic to avoid the lynch without claiming. This said, I don't believe you would try this, so you are either a VT or scum. Your play today look more like the first one.

I know it doesn't townclear me. I was answering Bozo's question.

Self voting when clear top wagon would be a dangerous tactic as a PR so I am almost certainly (from another townsperson's pov) either VT or goon. From a scum pov almost certainly VT.

If you are town you just need to pick. I think Xorxes, ghug, worcej, Balki and probably Vecna have already picked. Correctly.

##vote thdfrance

I just read his ISO. My impression is that he is flinging shade all over the thread in a way that scum often do. Look around for things to call people on. It is subtly different than most town process -- which involves more town reads and more puzzling. Hard to explain, that one.

But he flings shade at Ike. He flings shade at Damo. He flings shade at Jamiet. He flings shade at xorxes. He flings shade at me. Never much of a defense or a town read of anyone.

Looks a lot like scum to me.

And the kicker for me is that ghug started that wagon. If ghug is town, I respect his view. If ghug is scum, ghug is such a consistent busser! Being with ghug on Day 1 is a good place to be.
Still cannot really shake the feeling that Balki was actively trying to save Damo here in any way possible. Making the arguments to NOT vote Damo, but to actively VOTE ThdFrance as the alternative.

It can definitely also come from town, since a bunch of his reasons for townreading Damo were ok - but it still has a whiff of scum trying to save the driver - the push is really strong, and the quotes that he pulls from damo couldve just as well applied to a ton of the other wagons. Besides that, he did not really pull the 2 most towny quotes from Damo, which is weird. The two that swayed my mind in an instant.
Maybe this is exactly what he wanted you to think. He wouldn't say "Hey folks, I won't let you lynch damo. What about thd?"; he convinced all of you to vote for thdfrance.

Vecna - care to share the 2 quotes that swayed you? It might help to sway others.

They made me think you were a PR doing an honest "youre wrong guys" type of post. Clearly that impression was wrong.

Im still not fully convinced whats what after that last EOD.

I have two possible scumteams:
Squigs-Flash : Read my first vote post for information, this was the scumteam I believed so far. This is still a point and exactly who I will vote for if damo doesn't flip scum.

Damo-Balki : Unlike the scum team I pointed above, I made this scumteam by sheeping your opinions because they were logical and make sense to me. I will ##vote damo for now but obviously the first scenario is also logical given Squigs distracted us from (Jamie) wagon.

I only gave two members from those assumed scumteams because I can only link those players. I didn't want to make my post less precious by adding the scumreads I'm less sure about.

I mean, the kill choice was obviously a PR hunt right? Why not adress it from that angle.
@ Vecna - Given the lack of a roleblock claim it does seem more and more like an attempt to hit PR with a NK/RB combo.

@ Damo - I thought Vecna seemed very blendy D1 something I think we had both picked up on... you mentioned that the last few posts had changed your mind about Vecna... can you put a finger on it?

@ Squigs -

Just finished up a coding competition that was all day, so I don't really feel like digging through posts tonight.

Flash is being defensive.
I still think damo and DemonRHK are good votes.
ND continues to amaze me with his sage intellect (but for real, he feels town)
Xorxes looks a lot better than he did at the beginning. He mostly just seems more comfortable.

##vote damo
Have you had a chance to dig back through the posts? Since you still think Damo and DemonRHK are good votes, do you think the thd lynch was protecting one of them?

I'd also like to know what you think of the people on the thd wagon... none of which you mention except Balki who you give credit to for sticking his neck out.

Or maybe the missing roleblock is simply because scum are smart enough to realize that roleblocking is high risk medium reward with a tracker/watcher in play. Theres no need to roleblock your kill unless im missing something, but it does give town two scum at once if theyre lucky.

DrCJG

Vecna's block of posts seem to have resulted from a readthrough having been absent for a while. He was clearly picking posts he felt important and crtiqueing them. I felt such critique to be more Vecna's usual playstyle (and from a towny viewpoint) compared to a lacklustre D1. Hence my change of opinion.

I still don't like DrCJG on re-read, he states that he'll be fear killed because he has never been town before and thinks scum won't want him to stick around and solve which I think is a load of crap.

*Snipped*

and trying to get a Vecna wagon started. Which to be fair seems to be an original idea, but he tried with less than 15 minutes and no other votes on Vecna.

I'll ##vote DrCJG
@ Ike - My post about being NK'd may have been a little too light hearted... Balki and Xorxes were (I thought jokingly) fighting over who would be NK'd and I threw in my comment. Both are far more experienced than me (same with Tom and many others) so a true "fear kill" would of course be unlikely on me.

I think I snipped too much as your other main comment was that I have been largely riding on others coat tails... I admit, I feel like I haven't been able to get a great read on anyone including you.
  • Do you agree that you were oddly cold and formal in your response to Jamie/Worcej regarding the prior game? Did you really not understand the point Worcej was making?
  • What do you think happened at the EOD1? was there a scum save?

I've made multiple attempts to talk about the box, info gained and what's lost from claiming early, strategies to circumvent the negatives, but no one seems to want to talk about it. Damo, Bo, would either of you like to discuss?
I am willing to talk about it. What is your current proposal? I mentioned earlier that I think a box recipient should claim to have had the box 2 days after having had the box such that the box recipient passed it to someone and the box was passed again before claiming... this makes it so that it is possible for the box to be passed back to the original box recipient, but begins to give the rest of town potentially useful information.

No. 'If pushed' I said, I don't have detail.

I think I made more of a statement to you than a question, as I am trying to process how the NK happened and whether I can avoid WIFOM enough to get information from it.

Still, a doctor N1 could certainly save himself so a NK/RB combo doesn't seem far fetched... I believe the NK could be carried out by the RBer so I am not sure there is added risk to RB/NK at the same time, plus with 5 mafia I could imagine one of them fake claiming a RB...

However, given the low likelihood of RB even getting seen by the watcher, I could also see them trying to reduce town knowledge... but at this point I guess we can assume that is not the case.

The scumteam has some people that push it in the direction of looking for play patterns. Tom Bombadil was less outspoken than normally, while not making excuses for it. Almost like not trying to attract attention. Scum thought he was the type of player that would buckle under the weight of an important PR role and hide from view, to not be a serious threat to the scumteam with accurate reads.
This is well put. Who are people you think would make and then push that call on their teammates, Vecna? My brain is screaming Balki.

How many more times do have have to say this.

I DO NOT HAVE ANY SCUMREADS AT ALL.

What is so strange about that?

I have some solid townreads and the scumteam could be any 5 of the remainder (barring some pairs I find unlikely).

The scumteam I named were just the least towny imo. It could have been any 5 of 9 really.

I am resigned to getting lynched. It will be a second mislynch but it could be worse for town.

It will be a shame because I am better when there is more to analyse but I won't be there to help. Up to you.

It's day 2. I find it hard to believe that someone who posts and interacts with the game as much as you have has no scum reads. It's also been like 50 pages. Doesn't add up.
