I was fake claiming Investigative Sheriff.
I am actually Desperado and am planning to shoot near EoD, about a half hour before deadline.
I will shoot the top wagon unless it is somehow me.
I was just claiming because I knew I would shoot today until I died.

Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
Good work brainbomb, now the cat is out of the bag. Yes, I have my own plan for shooting methodology. Calling in advance and shooting top wagon isbrainbomb wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 1:36 pmCome end of day its fairly obvious sweet is not going to be shooting anyone. If you really think sweet is gonna be shooting top wagon you dont have a good memory.
In M89 Vecna was the suicide bomber. The role is that you sacrifice yourself to kill another person - in this case vecna was hoping it was mafia. Vecna claimed and wanted to kill top wagon with his powers and numerous players agreed with the idea that top wagon was best play.
One player didnt really like it:
Sweet claims latrophobe and then asks why even claim. What???? Why wouldn't you just do it? Or not claim?
Really got to go now, so I guess I will find out later.
Desperado is not a suicide bomber but the same possible perilous outcome can happen. The role can die by hitting town.
So, it seems to me sweet- having seen how vecnas play failed and town went on to lose; sweet would probably just not go this same exact stylistic path. But what do I know its not like im a researcher or anything

I actually planned to do something else.
Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
Vecna has opinions on things! yaybrainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 7:44 pmVecna also usually reads foodcoats correctly, catching him as scum in m53. Food is another player vecna talks about as town every game.
M48 vecna accurately townreads foodcoats day 1
M66 vecna accurately townreads foodcoats day 1
M67 scum vecna doesnt mention food day 1 later says:
M86 accurately townreads foodcoats day 1he's one of those players where im usually one of the few people townreading him.
M87 scum vecna doesnt mention foodcoats - day 2 says
M88 Scum Vecna scumreads foodcoats day 1also im quite sure foodcoats this game is like a boeing
something something nuts, bolts, loose screws
M89 town vecna accurately reads foodcoats day 1
It feels like its very smooth, and not as messy as I like to think I remember foodcoats being.
think this is the first game ever im liking foodcoats on d1.
maybe im just forgetting. I like foodcoats.
This seems to fit well within vecna desired early reads. He thinks he doesnt do it but he certainly has a penchant for accuracy.
All this research combined with my hamilton reasearch still give me a few tingly doubts mostly because I find food and hamilton town here. But vecna when he townreads food is very spot on. When he scumreads food its more in vecnas scum game to avoid any read at all than it is to come out swinging for food
Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
So why did this part of your beliefs change - after seeing just a game ago how claiming it rather than just doing it was better in your opinion?

I almost weighed in, but my opinion was too complex to put into words, so I didn't.
What happened to you realizing if it wasnt for your distraction, I had the entire scumteam in my POE last game, for the entire game?
What really do you need convincing on boyo?

I think that it would be wise to be less reliant on this "too scummy to be scum" defense.
Sweet's did not claim PR, he claimed "I am going to play in a way that is bad for Town."
That works as a scum play only because the prevailing view around here is: "too scummy to be scum." And it is a very easy ploy. It has also allowed him to avoid talking about alignments. He just keeps telling everyone how hard his claim is.
The sensible people realized that he volunteered to be receiving the brainbomb treatment this game (which is /ignore).

To further clarify, I was using my "talking to a school child" voice.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 2:30 pmI think I caught him already. He speculated about not knowing whether the Desperado can fire at night. "It would be bad play as a vt (as you might turn lawman), crazy play as sheriff, too attention seeking as mafia which leaves a desperate desperado maybe." And does this ring true? VTs don't know if they are a certain role (as that is kind of what damo's defense rests on)?Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 1:59 pm
I am in the middle of a massive catchup but I'll try to focus on that as I read.
If sweet is lying he will be caught eventually.
Like if a student proudly declared 2+2=5, I would say, "Hmmm, I don't think that is quite right".
So while my wording, when read could display uncertainty, I am in fact not uncertain. Of course, 2+2=4.
So you are currently claiming I think 2+2=5, Jamiet, and it is a bit silly to me.

I have responded to new information.
To view the game state as fixed and only allow yourself to have one opinion per player, all game, is a mistake that scum tend to make.

OK, I'll TRY to lessen it but its a habit of mine I really dont know if I can stop, I think its helpful but maybe theres something ELSE I can use to show emphasis how do you italicize things?damo666 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 8:50 am@Flavius please revise your understanding of the word 'emphasis'.
Your habit of capitalising words in every post you make is annoying, ugly and does not encourage reading of your input which is a shame because there ar occasional nuggets
I think you are town and want to read what you have to say so please refrain from your capital habit otherwise I'll simply gloss over your posts without reading properly.
Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
So much pressure to perform well when you have a good role. You are pretty cool under such a weight when its actually on you.
The same is true as being scum. Every scum team I was on won in spite of my terrible play. Or lost due to it. Sorry Jamie especially.
That said, its such a boring thing to talk about.
Id rather hear people talk about spicy team combos like a balki-eden scumteam with some miscreants in there too.

Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
I gotta go out for a bit, up through 41.
brain is hard town. Perma locked. Also like chaqa's catchup and I'm leaning good on Eden and Jamie.
Flav is just mudslinging and I hate it. The caps makes it come off as a rampaging karen and I think it stinks. The sole counterpoint I will admit to is I did the same shit last game and it may be another case like 'I always scum rdr'.
The sweet situation, I believe the second claim, but sweet even admitted that this shit will be sorted by EoD anyway.
I think Balki sucks becuase I got a defending flav ping off him and bozo is doing fuck all.
Be back in a bit

I note your explanation but am not entirely convinced. You said "can I even do that?" as if you were not sure. The Desperado would have said "no Flavius you dumbo, I can't fire at night".
