M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral

So this seems to be tilting sideways quite fast. Never was I desperate or striving for a chaqa wagon. never was I hot in the biscuit to claim chaqa was scum. a dialogue about lurkers and which lurkers we find dangerous was a goal. I also wanted to challenge the excuses being levied for why some lurkers were problematic and we got that dialogue.

My vote is my sword and I have a plan for how I use it. But votes can be used against you later so im just taking my time with it. Voting a lurker only to move elsewhere is meaningless and rarely prompts a person to just post. Talking about a person accomplishes the same thing.

Voting a lurker and staying on that lurker when people are arguing on that lurkers behalf is anti town and serves no purpose either.

Telling me im allowed to vote chaqa is quite ignorant. I would much prefer a dialogue about chaqas scum meta as a lurker, or chaqas typical return to thread habits. Why hes deserving of a day 2 life; sans having storm damage and a new baby at home.

I was hoping Jamie felt chaqa plays better day 2. Or eden had some ideas on how chaqa tends to improve over time as town and I didnt see anyone implying such notions.

My activity level is typically separate from my alignment. It really depends on how things are going, how busy I am, and how engaged with the game I am.

SEVERAL people made this EXACT same mistake last game, how about we just admit for once that NO ONE here knows what is fake blowing up vs real blowing up; and base it off of something else like the CONTENT. For example Jamie voted for sweet then people jumped on him for it, and THEN he said "oh I was doing it in jest"

Then when I called him out on THAT, he said oh actually I AM attacking sweet, and NOW he's OFF sweet AGAIN and acting like everyone who is on him is a crazy person.

I have a Google Doc of my notes on Day 1. I am going to share most of it in here while redacting one or two portions of it:

Day 1
I like that the days automatically shorten to 24 hours on Day 6. It might have been nice if it was one day earlier, but I think it’s a good thing for us to try out. These rules about no ties seem odd… I’m going to have to ask Dargo about that in the post-game.

The Setup
My first thought is that the Desperado returning is really cool, and I wish I had gotten that role. The Lawman seems fine. The Investigative Sheriff is weird. I don’t know if I’m a fan of the randomness inherent to it.

I’m a little confused by the mafia abilities:
Do they have a single factional roleblock for the entire game, or one per night?
Ditto for the factional kill

It’ll be fun to play with Flavius and Eden again. It’s been ages since I got to play with either of them. Lfischl will wind up being modkilled or replaced, surely. Otherwise a very standard and exciting lineup.

Food and KOTP have very thematic avatars. Maybe I should put a cowboy hat on mine. KOTP’s post made me reflect and I think Sweet probably doesn’t do this play as mafia, but that’s about all I’ve gleaned from it. So I’ll throw him in with Hamilton as my initial town reads.

I think this was obvious but I’ll note that when he made the post, the only person voting for Sweet was Buny, though Balki and Jaimie had previously voted for him. I’m really liking these Western lore drops from Dargo. I need to remember to ask him if these are true or alternate history. As of the vote count here, Jamie has 4 votes from what I consider the usual suspects. Worcej and Vecna voting him is pretty much a meme at this point, and Sweet has good reasons to vote for Jamie. I’ve got a bit of a suspicion coming on Balki, however.

I really like Brain’s readslist. This seems to me like he is making the same conclusions I am. When we’re on the same page, that is usually a good sign. I think I’ll vote for someone not in our town group at EOD.

I’m not sure what to think about the ongoing dialogue around Sweet’s fakeclaim. There seem to be a few people saying it was clearly a joke, but I don’t really agree, and I think it’s a little suspicious. It could also be that they are trying to trick the mafia into thinking that it was a joke. So maybe I will just stay quiet and try to avoid bringing votes onto Sweet.

There’s discussion ongoing by D&W about Bunny being more active than normal seems odd to me. I was thinking Bunny is actually less active than normal. I don’t know if this means anything, but it seemed worth noting.
