Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
Holliday was not a sharp-shooting gunslinger.
Doc Holliday was not a gunfighter.. He was a classically educated Southern gentleman who spoke Latin and Greek and read Flaubert in the original French.
Holliday was bound for a life of dentistry in Atlanta until he was diagnosed with tuberculosis at 22. The popular theory of the day was that the sunshine and dry air of the American desert was good for the lungs, so Holliday went west.
Out West, he found he couldn't making a living as a dentist so he turned to gambling. He was deeply, profoundly ashamed of being a professional gambler. It was the male equivalent of being a prostitute in the 1800s, it was doing something for money that respectable people did for pleasure.
He never told his family the truth about his life in Tombstone, but news spread fast after the gunfight. Once his family in Atlanta got word of his activities, his father never spoke his name again. He was considered a disgrace.
Earp and Holliday were not quite the dynamic duo portrayed in so many films. The two actually had little in common: Holliday loved books, while Earp was barely literate. The real friendship was between Holliday and Earp's brother, Morgan.
When Holliday and Earp teamed up to chase down Morgan's killer, the vengeance ride wasn't as ideal as the stories go. Doc's health was quite poor and Wyatt probably didn't want him along at all. 'Okay, we're going to be riding hard over bad terrain, looking for very dangerous men, who do we want on our posse?” Earp would have wondered. 'Let's get a guy who might collapse or cough at the wrong time.' Unlikely.

##GM NOTE
(in general, when someone asks the GM a question privately, and the information is deemed useful publicly... I will post the answer here.)
Please note that lawmen/gunmen will activate D2 at the EARLIEST. However, the Desperado DOES have an activated gun on D1.

Usually your lurking keeps you alive into the mid game or endgame. Is this emphasis on mortality driven by the games ammunition or by the consensus pregame plan to murk the lurk? Or.. other?rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:44 amSpeaking as a regular lurker I agree with you. They don’t help town, they are problematic in the end game, and there’s usually scum among them.Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:50 am
The lurker option did come up quite a bit last game. Wait, did I mention that already? Something about get rid of them now before they fuck it up for us later on?
That said, my vote on damo is a joke.

Are you equating something about Eden's number of posts with the fact they knew brain made that error?Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 11:36 amPresident Eden has two posts but is clearly paying some attention to the game because he immediately picked up on Brainbomb's mistake.

Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
I didn't know that until darg's post (and I suspect you didn't until you asked him).
So now I don't know what sweet is playing at. It would be bad play as a vt (as you might turn lawman), crazy play as sheriff, too attention seeking as mafia which leaves a desperate desperado maybe.
Anyway, strange play. I look forward to the eventual explanation.

Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
Jamie is lead wagon.
Experience tells me there is usually a mafia that jumps on the D1 wagon.
So which of the current 4 make the most sense to jump on?
(No, don't tell me. I want to come to my own conclusion.)

For the benefit of people's ability to read the non-alignment indicative elements of play, Hamilton Brian always makes posts like this where he muses over the setup in the thread rather than reading the setup.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:15 amWhy are you posting this?Hamilton Brian wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:09 amMinus a town point to King for trying to buddy me. Gotta remember...4 scum, 4 scum, 4 scum. How many of us in total? 19?
Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
I suspect that, based on last game, sweetandcool made a promise to himself that he would aggressively fakeclaim no matter his role or alignment. He is making a point to us at the meta-level rather than making any game-related assertions, which is unfortunate.rdrivera2005 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 2:39 amSweet is tryng some master mind plan only him understand and that will get him miskilled D1 or hipfired. Or he is just Mafia.
Jamiet is either using a shoe two sizes smaller then his size or he is faking indignation.
The rest I don't have any meaningful thoughts. Maybe HB is tryng too much. Maybe.
Jamie seems to be typically indignant. I scumread him for part of last game because he wasn't off-the-walls angry. He seems back to form.
Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
Ouch, that's rough. Docks are a pain. I used to live on a lake and dock management (namely trying to keep it from being destroyed by ice in the winter) was my personal bane. I was also allergic to the lake: I would sneeze uncontrollably for hours after swimming if I didn't take a shower (well water). Swimmer's itch does not sound fun. Hope it clears up.brainbomb wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 5:51 amFoodcoats
My vacation is going well until 2 days ago where I had to do some work on a dock that fell apart in a storm. i was wading in the water and have developed a skin issue on my legs. it is a pretty horrendous form of swimmers itch which has covered me in what look like chicken pox. i am itchy all day and it is awful. It is hard to concentrate and ive been pretty snappy and irritable as a result. Trying to treat it with anti itch spray and about six showers a day right now. Its horrible, and no one would enjoy this feeling.
Re: M 90: Shootout at the Pretty Good Corral
I had been pondering that Jamie was mafia and was annoyed at being pushed.
but the idea he could be faking the desire to sub out - and faking that anger felt equally possible. the purpose of that anger faking is so he doesnt have to rationally push or question anyone ; instead focusing in on the supposed anger to try to get townread on AtE.
But most of this falls away because I think bottom line is he gets very annoyed at being pushed day 1, and takes great offense to feeling bullied or targeted.
Read jamie on who he pushes and what he whiffs on. Who does he give free passes too

This is a good analysis of why sweet is quite wrong when he claims to be playing optimally.FlaviusAetius wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 7:57 amAND THIS is why you shouldnt have claimed because now anyone who SUSPECTS you is instant sus, you tainted yourself and you didnt give not one reason for itsweetandcool wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 12:24 amAre you PR hunting? :O

This game looks so scumsided with a NK and four scum shots.
##vote Chaqa
Hope to get back before Dargo pings me again.
I am posting because darg pinged me
I dont know how many gunmen town has
the setup is scumsided because they get five kills
Im gonna vote chaqa
Hopefully ill be able to post again today before darg pings me on discord
——
I want to believe that this is just rdrivera doing a normal intro post but I have doubts. These four statements and vote seem to present a myriad of thoughts and also simultaneously a lack thereof.
My current scumreads are rdr, and bona.
Bona for completely different reasons. For one im
Used to bona showing up to have conversation with someone and to probe people with dialogue. Town bona has a system which in his own way creates a smattering of scathing punches. Instead bona posts something akin to organized observation and does not engage with others.
This seems to me to be a change in style and character by bona.
My townreads thus far are foodcoats and bunny. I feel some alright vibes from DemonRHK, and kingofthepirates. hamilton also shines here in a typical very true to form hamilton manner. These arent strong townreads but I am happy saying I feel good about food and bunny specifically.
Sweet is doing some wacky stuff and im leaning town even if balki charges the behavior is anti town. I dont suspect Balki for that line of attack.
Jamie is a distraction and I am null on his behavior at present.
Worcej is null as well but his early entry and subsequent posts shine a little better than what ive seen from bona and rdr.
Chaqa is a null who left no impression on me so far.
Thats many of my thoughts thus far.
I havent played with rdr but I think its too early for you to call him scum straight up especially when you said his behavior was NAI
