Did this person play a part in WWI or one of the many causes that led up to it?
If yes, Free guess: Gavrilo Princip

Gavrilo Princip is correct! On this day (June 28th) in 1914 in Sarajevo, Princip assassinated Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian Empire, an action that had far-ranging consequences on world history, most notably leading the creation of the classic board game Diplomacy that we all know and love.

As for the pass - “At the time of his birth, Bosnia was administered by Austria-Hungary, while still formally a province of the Ottoman Empire.”

Huh, I was thinking it might be someone from Bosnia because of the pass.

Great game, great pick, and congrats on your first win, miminena!

Yknow, I haven’t normally taken that approach, but when I saw it was WW1 related and we’re on a Diplomacy forum I knew I had to do it

And congrats on 1st win miminena!
