In the end, we will follow our usual policy that the first to NOT resolve must do so.
Wasn't there a council ruling, that always, everytime, mafia has to resolve and cannot forgo their nk?

Yes, there was. GM's can overrule rulings for particular reasons... and I will post soon about what I think will solve the legitimate criticism/complaints/comments about the possible standoff. I think, taking everyone's suggestions in mind, that there is a fun solution.

Agree about voting no kill; there’s no mercy or deliberation in the old west.

Worried about that mafia ability as it then encourages them to shoot everything ASAP, which may mess with other balance stuff.

Yeah, but the fact that day Gunmen activating is spread out over multiple days will slow that down.

I am, however, noticing that this appears to lean towards town-sided with lots of people, due to the large amount of dayvigs for town, and the fact that maf basically only have 1-2 extra kills over the standard "one NK per night" because maf factional night kill only unlocking after the last maf day Gunman unlocks and uses (and that's assuming darg uses sweet's suggestion). Also the factional RB is not very good as there is only one town night role (sheriff/cop).
Whereas town have a cop and also a bunch of dayvigs (most of whom can claim and be distinguished from each other by the night they unlock on), as well as a hearty amount of VTs. The proportion of players to vig shots also increases quite a bit with more players. Not to mention the game taking longer, which naturally causes town to be able to analyze more and also have more stuff to analyze.

Similarly to the factional RB being weak, the night is also likely to drag out the game because the only things happening are the sheriff scan and maybe the one night gunman for maf.

I see. From the phrasing above, it sounded like there has been a change that I completely missed, that there was a change of that policy again.

This seems like a game where you could simply not have night phases and just make it nightless and have all days be 48 hours. the cop scans by day, the mafia can factional rb by day, (yes youd have to give them daychat), and then they can roleblock a gunman potentially.

or to put it as a question
since there is no night kill what are players doing during the night phase that has any bearing on the following day?

You need to implement a rule that says no kill is not possible.

Otherwise town will just nokill and noshoot every single day, meaning scum has exactly 3 bullets to find the cop or autoloose.
