In terms of ghug. (Much of this is in my previous posts)
I do think he was scum that was hipfired upon. He was second wagon (so no reason for maf to shoot), and it means that at leat some townies didn't like.
Much of what has been said to "confirm ghug is town" is that the shooter won't claim. Why would we want them to claim.
SHOOTER STAY HIDDEN. Claim on the block if you must.
They claim, they get NK'd. obviously.
We aren't calling for the archer to claim?
(I do understand that the archer A) has a second shot, and B) doesn't have info to give, but I think it's a similar enough case.
Anyway, I think ghug was scum and the shooter did good work.

Any team,
It's 12:30 and I need to sleep.
My Aunt and Uncle are coming down for the day tomorrow (or today I guess, since its crossed 12
) so I will not be reading the thread. I'll try to come by and drop a vote.
I'll see if I've got time to read after choir in the evening, but otherwise I will be catching up on Tuesday (N4).
Be well!

##GM NOTE
FWIW... this 24 hour thing is playing games with my internal MafClock. I THINK I like it, actually... but I just spent 5 minutes preparing a Vote Count... and only one person had voted! Which was weird. Until I remembered it is Night.
Sigh.

I like this post. One single post that summarizes Vecna’s thoughts.Vecna wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 1:00 pmmy current worldview is something along the lines of: kakkarot was right about kotp, flum and jamiet being scum.
Scum killed him and tried to remove the focus off of those reads by forcing the flip on D&W to discredit his remaining reads. Whether they also did ghug remains to be seen, but it fits in the objective of obfuscation.
I think the BM was scum, to set up an overwhelming gamestate to induce the parasite to be accepted.
I also have a growing suspicion that they mightve recruited S&C, and that he was actively trying to defend flum at last eod.
Im not certain of this by any stretch of the imagination, but if I was the scumteam id recruit either him or dousing. Two widely townread players where noone will truely bat an eye if they dont die for a while. The ghug kill also fits in that narrative to further obfuscate whether a tadpole was accepted or not.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Am I really so unimpressive that I only get one line, or did you just run out of steam as the alphabet carried onfoodcoats wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 1:21 pmSo in going over the player list I think the main areas I am concerned to sort are the aaro/Dousing group and the President Eden/Fox group. I am grouping them not because they are actually paired in any way but they are similar. Aaro and Dousing seem active but have not really rung any bells for me as to the idea they are actually solving - there is a lot of filler. Eden and Fox to me seem strong on certain areas and yet totally weak on others; this to me seems like the "analytical pose" that can be struck by scum.
I think Ezio has risen to my top scum read, based on the below. (Interestingly as I format these notes I only have him as a "scumlean," but the thing I picked up on his iso is really sticking with me and I think he is quite scum.) Bona I now feel quite confidently is town based on EOD. Squigs is still my "town leader." Yoyo has dipped in my estimation, as I think my original estimation was flawed by listening too much to one sound byte shared by Squiggs. There are a number of connections where I could see Flum as scum but he is super "smooth" to me and I don't have a "direct" read on him. Flipping Flum could be good but it could also be bad; I can't help but wonder if me, Flav and Flum were just three tasty town and it was really Fox who was on the docket earlier in the day that is the scum there.
Here are my thoughts so far:
aarodactyl - scumlean
Nothing has really changed in my opinion of aaro since I last spoke about him. He does not appear to be paying much attention to the game or trying to solve, and is getting by on being lowkey. It's interesting that his takeaway from Flav's flip is that Flum is scummy and he pushes the Vig to shoot Flum. However, this ignores a lot of nuances, like how the "original" EOD wagons, at about 20 minutes out, were Fox and Bona, and Flum, like Flav and I, were pretty much flash wagons. Another interesting thing is that there were many calls for a Yoyo wagon and yet Yoyo did not get flashed. Does town!aaro simply conclude that Flum, since not killed, was scum? His deduction quotes brain's flavour text, not anything said by anyone, which overall just leaves me feeling he is randomly hipshooting. It is certainly possible that he is just not very into the game - I recognize he stated he always ends up feeling playing Mafia is a mistake. Nonetheless, he is a scumlean.
Bonatogether - townlean
The thing going for Bona after EOD is that he was present at end of day, I have been scumreading him a lot, and yet he stayed on Flav rather than moving to kill me instead. Bona has also not exactly been impressed with me. Therefore, I think that scum!Bona has a lot of incentives and ability to move his vote to me, a detractor, rather than killing Flav. The only reason he focuses down Flav as he did was if Bona and Fox are both scum and they felt they needed to get rid of Flav's screaming about the Excel sheet. But no one took that seriously, anyway. Therefore, I now townlean Bona.
BunnyGo - null/town
Ultimately I just do not have a good read here. I would not vote Bunny unless it was to preserve a townread. I am also willing to vote with Bunny, e.g. when I voted with him for aaro. But there is nothing that he has done to make me strongly townread him. I can say that I do not scumread him for pushing President Eden after the sub; in fact, there is something about that that could almost push me to townread Bunny.
Yoyoyozo - null
I was town Yoyo because of the point Squigs made about how Yoyo interacted with Balki, but he has really contributed nothing to the game at this point. He voted for me but had previously scumread me in the day, so he has some consistency to his thoughts at least. Don't know what to think of this slot.
Col7by - null/town
There is a bit of naivete to Colby's iso that makes me townlean him just a bit, although the way he plays, writes and votes has made it hard for me to feel strongly town about him. Bunny's push on him feels like negative points for Bunny, but maybe that was a testing strategy since Bunny has Colby meta.
DemonRHK - town
I can't remember why but when I re-read RHK earlier he seemed quite townie. Him basically ghosting the game is annoying, but I have a feeling he got aggravated at having his moniker for the sub strategy banned and is pouting rather than lurking.
Dousing - scum
Nothing has really changed here in my opinion of Dousing. I think he felt largely comfortable with every wagon at EOD. If Dousing were to be killed and flipped scum, I would think that Flum is town.
Ezio - scumlean
Could be an OMGUS on my part, but the thing that sticks out when I go over Ezio's iso is that there are a lot of players he simply hasn't made any mention of. It could be that he is not paying a lot of attention to the game and just picking up stuff when he has time, but he also HAS been very pointed and insistent in certain areas when it was needed. To me this looks like a scum blindspot. There are a bunch of people he has nothing to say on because he knows the game solve.
Fluminator - null/scum
I'm going to put Flum as the teensiest bit scum because I largely have had no reactions to him. He is extremely vanilla and that makes me a bit wary. He is also pushing on some of the strongest townreads: sweet, Bunny and Fox.
Foxcastle - null/town
I am not townreading Fox as much as I was earlier. He came in hot but he's cooled a lot. I wonder if he is scum who was doing the parade bit earlier but is struggling to keep up with faking it. It would be very hard for me to vote to kill Fox, though, because of those initial impressions. That said, some of his targeting of Flum makes me feel that if Flum flipped scum, Fox is more likely scum.
Jamiet99uk - null
Jamie is a tough one here. I don't feel like he is his normal playstyle, which is fine, but... he is not striking me as being on the town page here. I just can't totally tell. I don't see anything wrong with him, I guess. Killing him would be fine. I am not going to follow his reads because I don't feel he is making any interesting arguments, either.
JustAGuyNamedWill - town
I have no idea on what basis to townread Will but it seems right. He just seems distracted.
President Eden - scumlean
So, I basically townread lfischl, and at first I townread President Eden, but now he seems stuck in a Battlemaster rut. He doesn't seem to be engaging with the game much except for that duel. There is also something about the interaction with Fox that feels off to me. I think my scum vibes here are largely based on the fact that President Eden's view of the game is so narrow. I don't think I'd vote for him immediately, but it will be interesting to see how his game develops.
Squigs44 - town
Squigs is basically obvtown to me. If I compare him to for example Fox or sweet, Squigs has continued to evolve in logical ways and be thoughtful throughout the game. Hard to see him as anything except town or god-tier scum.
sweetandcool - townlean
I townread sweet because of his vibes, although I am coming around to the fact that sweet is... not very attentive to the game, and apparently this is intentional as he claims he wants to use his scumdar only and not try to analyze the game at all. He has been completely wild in some of his voting. At this point I think we need to use some analysis and not pure vibes. At the very least I am not going to follow sweet's reads unless he starts to think more about the game. The worst case scenario would be that it is all an act, as it could fit into a "too scummy to be scum" kind of play (since he may have learned that acting too 'sweet' i.e. nice was a tell when he was last scum).
TheMadMonarch - null/town
Hard to make much of MM's iso but when they were last here I did get town vibes.
Vecna - townlean
Vecna is usually more active but obviously has real life stuff going on. Generally speaking I think Vecna seems to be playing as expected for town. I don't really like Vecna's reads but I think he is just not fully engaged at this time.
worcej - null/town
Can be hard to read worcej, but I get the sense he is town-aligned so far.
