My one concern with this guess is that if I.M. Pei was the answer, and QM had answered "yes" to "visual arts and performing arts", that would mean they were already considering architecture as a visual art, because it clearly isn't a performing art. So it wouldn't make sense for them to ask for clarification on my question, if they didn't ask for clarification before.

I’ve always used visual to narrow down “the arts” to something that is appreciate with our sight… sure, you could argue any art could be “visual” in one fashion or the other, but this would be pedantic. Dancing, drawing, painting, sculpting, bodybuilding are all good examples
Re: Twenty Questions: Round 306
I think the big question is whether film is considered a visual art, and if so, if anyone involved in a film is a visual artist, or only people who are somehow involved in aesthetic aspects of it.Wattsthematter wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2024 4:12 pmI’ve always used visual to narrow down “the arts” to something that is appreciate with our sight… sure, you could argue any art could be “visual” in one fashion or the other, but this would be pedantic. Re: Twenty Questions: Round 306
Primarily known for acting?
If no, free guess: Sun Yu (not the badminton player)

Re: Twenty Questions: Round 306
I really want to say Jin Yan, who was the biggest Chinese film star of the 30's, but he was born in Korea.
The only other one I can find who fits is quite obscure. I have used my free guess, so I'll ask a conditional question, so at least if I'm wrong I'll narrow the field for the rest of the players.
Was this person notably a member of the Communist Party (notably, in the sense that it is mentioned in his Wikipedia entry)?
If yes: Zhao Dan.

Re: Twenty Questions: Round 306
Then either I have missed someone quite obvious, or this person is way too obscure to be a subject of this game.

Re: Twenty Questions: Round 306
I am being a bit tricky with something, but the subject is I think more well known in the West than any of the actors mentioned so far.
