I came to similar conclusions, although I'm more lukewarm on Fox and worcej. Bona looks real bad I think, and I feel the same way about them as I did about Balki
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Dousing defending himself from Balki during the night, after Balki died seems kinda interesting

Yes, it's authentic behavior.
I suppose the question is whether Mafia Dousing would think to towntell like this? Or if he would be coached?
I just think Town, but almost certainly not coached if Mafia.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
You know, I might actually analyze this.
It's possible but unlikely that Battle Master activated after the duel was announced. Consequently, it was activated earlier. Town doesn't have motivation to activate it unless two scumreads seem extremely likely to be the top two wagons. Or at least town reads are unlikely to be. Town would also likely communicate that the power was activated.
Consequently, Mafia activated it. Which means they thought it unlikely they would be in the top two wagons.

If you’re right, sweet, that means that Balki was still trying to throw us off with this deceptive move at EOD. He knew Dip would flip as townaarodactyl wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 8:58 pmHe hasn’t been posting the no kill tallies so I’m assuming if you want to no kill we need a tie. Trust Dip and Squigs.
@brainbomb is NoKill valid during a duel?
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
I disagree with this assessment. The wagons were 10-9 with Balki in the lead, but Balki was self voting at the time. With me voting it makes it 11-9ghug wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 1:38 amContriving a reason to get on the winning wagon?Ezio wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 8:55 pmI was gonna disagree, but seeing ##vote balki self vote I changed my mind.Fluminator wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 8:54 pmIt's better for town to kill a VT here than no kill in my opinion
I doubt town Balki self votes.
It was still 10-9 at this point but I feel like Balki was the heavy favorite.
Assuming Balki switches back, it would still only be 10-10. My vote essentially only tied it, with 5 minutes left in the phase. If I vote dip, the EoD wagons might have flipped.
Foxcastle and Bona both voted after me and explicitly stated the only reason they did so was to avoid the tie.
Here's foxcastle:
"↑Vecna: "we need a bigger gap so it cant be tied"
UGH
@@VOTE BALKI
"
and here's bona:
"@@vote balki
tie avoidance, prefer the other kill
"
If I'm on Dip, that doesn't happen.

Oh good point! If Mafia is responsible then Balki would have known he waas doomed.Yoyoyozo wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 4:43 amIf you’re right, sweet, that means that Balki was still trying to throw us off with this deceptive move at EOD. Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Considering that Balki most likely knew that he was dying no matter what (I doubt Town ordered the double kill), and the rest of Mafia did too, it kind of renders VCA moot. At least, to the extent that Mafia could happily vote whichever player they wanted since they knew it wouldn't make a difference.Ezio wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 4:57 amI disagree with this assessment. ghug's psychology analysis might be the type of VCA that is useful. Otherwise, pre-duel VCA is probably the best thing to look at.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
If I had a town role that let me kill the top two wagons I'd use the shit out of that early.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Hmmm, so unless Mafia messed up, it would make sense for them to activate their power near the 30 minute mark. Maybe when Balki taunted the thread?
Either way, that means the wagons at the time seemed likely to be T vT.
Obviously, Dip was a likely death. 2nd place seemed like lfisch or maybe Jamiet. Ghug looks slightly good but I would doubt it had much potential for 2nd place, plus Mafia probably could have DK Dip while protecting him (if he is Mafia).
No way Mafia activated after the duel started, even if the potentially could have sniped it. They wouldn't want to condemn Balki.
So lfisch is probably Town. Jamiet might be Town based on this, but I think he might fall in a similar category to ghug.

Early in the day? Why?
That makes no sense. You would use it close to deadline.

Wait, this is weird ghug.
You strongly Townread Dip N1 and that carried through to D2.
It became clear quickly that he would be a top candidate for the day.
So you are saying you would use the power early with no concern for your townreads?
I don't like the psychology of this. It paints a picture.
