Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Where is the Balki flip on the bot that doesn't show Damo or Dip flipping?

Paladin, fighter, warrior they all blend together in my mind.aarodactyl wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 11:04 pmFrom the word doc:BunnyGo wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 10:59 pmMore details please. What 3 roles. What actions. What uses? Who was? What conclusions suspicions and why?aarodactyl wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 10:17 pm
The three roles so far are all fighter roles. The paladin is another type of role and I’m guessing it was a mistake in the category used.
I cannot emphasize how lost I am before I get to catch up in 3+ hours.
“Fighter Roles:0-3
Battle Master : Once per game you may enable that the top two wagons will both flip and be eliminated. This action is a day action. If you activate this it will not be announced, you must submit this action before the final 30 minutes of a day phase. If the day would end in a tie, both wagons would instead be eliminated. If there was a scenario where the second highest wagon was tied then it would go by the bot which wagon was to be flipped.
Eldritch Knight: once per game, choose another player, and the wagon must be you vs them. If you activate this it will be announced, you must submit this action before the final 30 minutes of a day phase.
Archery: 2 shot day vigilante, you have two shots this game. You may only shoot once per day phase. If you wish to shoot another player please submit the action to the GM. you must submit this action before the final 30 minutes of a day phase.”
It’s been pointed out that archery (probably a typo for archer) is the only role that could have killed damo. Dip used the eldritch knight role. Someone used the battle master role.
The categories are completely meaningless but are just there for some historical reason with how brain made the setup. It was honestly a super weird comment for sweets to make (odd he knew the setup well enough to know that they were the same grouping but didn’t get the category name right)
But I knew all three were in the same grouping because I literally just checked the document to see what Battle Master was.
Of course, you could choose to perceive it strange I forgot the name so quickly.

I’ve literally been driving children around for 3 hours and showing up when I can. Now it’s bedtime.
That’s correct.
First line of the bot shows balki was a goon.

Sorry I missed EoD twice in a row. I'll try not to have that have happen... but that might be a pattern.
My last post (and when I stopped reading) was at page 113 and now we're at 169 pages. Needless to say, I read quite a bit lol.
I have some thoughts and I'll just post them haphazardly

He/Him, nothing special; just a random half-Japanese dude.
Thanks for asking though!

I thiiink it was just Ghug and Balki that were scumreading me?
for the sake of brevity I'm just gonna respond to Balki's main post against me since I feel like it hits all the points levied against me.

(FYI: I'm aware Balki flipped scum but his points are valid so I'll address them)
I think this argument gets at the heart of why my play could perhaps be "scummy"
Tbh its partly intentional and partly due to laziness. Keeping to a few lanes is just my way of maintaining brevity. I really don't feel the need to go "I scumread/I townread what you just said" on every single issue.
- If I have something insightful to say --> I'll say it
- If I don't have something insightful to say --> I'd rather not drown out though who do with some meaningless post from me.
This is especially the case when I don't think an issue should even be discussed. In that case I'll flat out ignore anything to do with that discussion in the hopes that whatever's propping up that kind of argument loses steam (RE: Bona's "WOOT WOOT" message).
Regardless, I don't actually think I'm as tunnel-y as Balki argues. I think my posts are fairly broad but that I simply swing to either 1-2 word responses or massive walls.
ie: I put a lot of *WORDS* into a specific topic, but I still put an equivalent amount of posts into most topics.
Tl;Dr: It's ironic how y'all complain about how many new pages there are yet flame people when they underpost.
(I have more coming)

First off: in any other context "[he] keeps his focus very narrow on a handful of subjects" reads like a compliment.Balki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Thu Jun 06, 2024 6:30 pm(2) Keeps telling us that he has been reading lots of pages but keeps his focus very narrow on a handful of subjects.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Japanese: about 100-200 words maybe? I haven't like tested it but it seems correct; when I talk in Japanese I always stumble and my sentences are always a grammatical mess, but I can get my point across fairly consistently.
That's speaking though. My Kanji knowledge is pretty much abysmal.
Farsi: I could probably count the number of Farsi words I know on my fingers and toes lol.
I know a lot more French than I know either Japanese or Farsi.
