Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Hot take: There were only three final wagons on scum and between them there were only three votes.
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
I mean, you summed it up right there. Normally you find him hard to read. Here you were very confident he was town. There's a way you'd know he's town.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 7:46 am? what do you mean here with too much information? I have never seen brian obvtowning or at least can't remember that, I usually have a hard time reading him. This game I think I had one of the best reads of him so far, and that was late when he was under pressure. Pretty ironical, looking back at this post now, I have to say, since before that I had a feeling of him just existing and not tending in any special direction. I did stay away from him though since I know he's often misvoted and just let him be, and look at other stuff.ghug wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 12:23 amThis feels TMIish.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 6:51 pm
brian? The one who was voted out D1 on m87 after posting suspiciously? Where he garnered pressure and then got flashwagoned after obvmafiaing? Just to turning out he was town?
I think you got the wrong man here. Or show me examples where he 'usually obvtowns under pressure'.
the whole thing people voting for him felt like a nothing burger, I kinda feel the same about damo, though if I had to make a choice of either, I would've voted for damo instead of brian here. It's not much, and probably nothing, but he ever so slightly gave a small mafia vibe off. But there were much better options, like Flum or lfischl, to push them to get info, or remove. Still sad that we didn't went for D&W here, which I felt was the superior vote, for reasons pointed out already.
But back to my question, what exactly do you mean here with me having too much information? I don't understand your thoughts there at all.

You may be right.sweetandcool wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:01 pmHot take: There were only three final wagons on scum and between them there were only three votes.
Top two was TvT and I suspect top 3 may have been TvTvT

This joke is getting somewhat stale.Jamiet99uk wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 4:46 pmDamo is obviously scum here.
Look at his posts if you need more information.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
??? I was not flailing max I was only flailing about us not consolidating, and potential for ties. There were already some people who were OK with the tie, or not killing anyone D1 so that needed to be stopped. Also I all of a sudden became a wagon so I needed to save myself too, I wasnt flailing I was trying to convince people with little time left If I was freaking out a little, well there wasnt a lot of time left and I needed to take action. That should be typical out of ANYONE in my posistionFluminator wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 4:47 amI was one of the leaders of the Hamilton wagon and was wrong rip. It felt like Brian vs. Damo for most of the day and they were always the two main wagons.
Damo declared Hamilton obvious scum and some people were annoyed by that and it kind of started it off between the two. There were a lot of people pushing 3rd wagons. Ifischl for lurking got pretty high, I was a top wagon for a bit for ??? reasons. Flavius was really flailing at the end under pressure and people didn't like that so he went up but I personally think it was town flailing. Dip was at the end but it never felt like he was in real danger.
It felt at the moment that the core of the Damo/Brian wagons were mostly locked in and firm in convictions it was other people players hopping on the third wagons until the end where it seemed really like a coin flip who would die out of Brian and Damo
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
I quoted several things in the moment. I see a bloodthirstiness to solve that is reaching conclusions I disagree with in a way that feels earnest and more concerned with finding the answer than consequences to reputation. That's town behavior.Kakarroto wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 7:47 amwhat exactly do you mean with him looking good? Please give examples, go into detail, and point out your thoughts and reason behind this.
For the record, I heavily disagree with your assessment here. I think nearly nothing about him is good. Not his logic, not his behaviour regarding evidence, and I'm pretty sure now he isn't on the 'good side'. So please, make me understand you, try to show me the errors of my ways.

im not sure whether the damo / HB wagon are stupid.
They might be. But I do feel theres enough reason to be voting there.
Flum / D&W / Flavius would all be atrocious wagons imo.
I feel like you. None of the juicy stuff I want to actually kill it on the table.
I STRONGLY feel bona is not getting anywhere near enough pressure. slot has been completely vapid.
I wouldnt mind S&C being an option
I always applaud a Chaqa wagon, and he's been awfully quiet (probably so he can N1 me again as he always does before I get a read on him)

I count 3 as early afternoon.. It's also often 2.Vecna wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 8:55 amdid you move to asia, or do you count 3pm as early afternoon? isnt even westcoast like only 8h behind cet? maybe summertime made it -9?
I tend to have fewer meetings after 3, which makes that late afternoon.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
The main reason you voted HB was that he didnt give you a good response, but you never even not once considered Damo's responses were so out of this world? Damo made a mistake in voting for HB without any reasons, then doubled down on his responses of refusing to provide any evidence, so and it created a wagon on him and HB. HB crumbled under the pressure and in all the chaos damo slipped away, when he SHOULDNT HAVE.Fluminator wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:03 amHe said if he flipped town, we'd have to spend time seeing which mafia were jumping on him to protect Damo (heavily implying he thought Damo was scum) but he didn't actually scum read Damo. So I thought he was scummy lol. He also never answered my questions about it! AlasBalki Bartokomous wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 4:50 amHelpful. What was your main thinking supporting your Hamilton read?
Anyone try to start an EOD flashwagon?
I feel like the main vibe from players at EOD in hindsight was lack of concern with who died out of Damo/Brian. The Flavius and Dip wagons were the flash wagon attempts though.

Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
Ok fine threads are similar, easy to make a silly mistake there. But DISCORD you'd have to open up the app and talk there, its completely different than webdip I just dont understand how anyone could actually make that mistake and refuse to believe it actually happenedFluminator wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:50 amI will never forget the time Fox actually literally scum slipped by posting in the game thread a message meant for the Mafia thread. Does anyone have an epi pen, I think Kak is having a seizure.
Just let them have the seizure and move things away from them; don't put stuff in their mouth, don't give them meds, don't throw water on them. I guess you could try an exorcism, but at least that won't cause them physical harm, but seems pretty mean spirited.

Too crazy.BunnyGo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 11:41 amAnd? Too crazy? Or do we have a Vecna-KingoftheBalki pairing?
This is just you trying desperately to be a bad person and break the game with out of game BS when there's really nothing there.

Squiggles, I mostly agree with you, but there are legitimate townslips. Don't lump them all together.Squigs44 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 12:36 pmWhy are we spending so much effort trying to divine Vecnas alignment based off a throw away joke?
Like, can we please stop over reacting to these 'scumslip' and 'townslip' posts? We aren't gonna solve the game on these meaningless posts. If someone actually scumslips, we'll let you know (we being the level headed people in the game)

I get your point about the fact that making that mistake would be strange, but I think the post is enough of a fish out of water to justify a discussion and not just a “Bruh.”
Re: M89: Baldurs Gate Mafia Game Thread
I'm just having flashbacks to BunnyGos first scum game where they won because almost everyone wrote them off as town due to a "legitimate townslip". I reserve my right to skepticism, but I'll weigh a townslip as a factor in my reads should something large enough happen.ghug wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2024 5:29 pmSquiggles, I mostly agree with you, but there are legitimate townslips. There is a problem developing in the bot. Using the forward arrow appears to cause a time travel incident to a previous game. It IS still possible to navigate around with other methodology. PM me if you have difficulty.
I'm working on it.
GM NOTE
I note that our group has forgotten how very very very important it is to +1 GM and CoGM posts. Just saying...
