I understand the reasoning for voting this way. I don't understand publishing this list 5 mins into the game. At least not from a town perspective. I feel like you're a smart person, but publishing a list like this seems potentially controlling if you are mafia, while I don't see any upside from a town perspective.
Help me understand
well, usually people don't listen to me, especially early. I don't think I've ever controlled a game state in the first few parts of a game, so such a thought didn't came to mind. I'm more inclined at this phase to make people understand from where I'm coming off, so they can read me, and make people react for better information in later phases. Like usually I start with pretty bad reads early, and they grow progressively better the later the game gets.

I like to be right though, so that's probably why I buss as a mafia. A lot. Not always, mind you, but if you see me voting someone with fervor, it's very likely either coming from a town perspective, or bussing mafia. But that aside, I don't think I'm a good controller, especially early. I think as mafia I'm much more of a deceiver, hiding behind truths, and using them to slip into unlikely situations, and go with the flow. As town, I'm trying to uncover, pointing things out, asking questions, collecting puzzle pieces and try to fit a picture together to get to the truth.

I mean, I could be wrong and have a wrong picture of myself, but ask around, I'm sure there are some people here who can tell you of me. If they say I'm a control type, I would be pretty surprised though.
You wanted people to better understand your completely random vote? Or it was a precursor for future voting?
well I hope people understand that it was just a random roll of dice. But more the process, or later why I put out certain people.

Honestly, a little bit surprised why there was so little questioning of why I chose to exclude those people.

Maybe he assumed or something idk. But I think it was pretty clearly stated in the signup that there would be 5 mafia, so this isnt really that big of a deal bro
Plenty of people don't pay attention to the singnup thread beyond confirming.
Are you insinuating that I didn't read the sign up thread/set up and then hypocritically got annoyed at someone else for not reading.

Have you forgotten the game xorxes and I broke day 1 by hard solving the set up? I read the set up
"Remember that time..." is very weak, but I do believe that you are meticulous, yes.

My role PM told me I was vanilla town.

I'm positively gutted since I wanted to experience the joys of Mafia day chat.

Probably the only way I'll ever get to experience Mafchat
Sorry bud, I was looking forward to playing with you, but signaling to the mafia you're willing to be tadpoled means we got to kill you now.

##Vote sweetandcool
How dare you! I am a man of integrity. I would not eat a tadpole, that's murder.

Plus, Mafia shouldn't be looking to recruit a VT.

##VOTE Flum for scumslipping.
Sweet is sounding mightily strange this game

I have read the first 1.5 pages. As always I will townread Will whether he is town or not, and I will be suspicious of flum and kakkarot regardless of allignment.

Now, for my uber-important question that will clearly demonstrate I am town - Do we actually know how many scum this setup features? Because it was not mentioned in the starting post as far as I could find. Was it mentioned in the spammed out signup thread somewhere?
(page 17 in the sign up thread, forth to last post)

Signups are closed - Setup will now be randed and roles will go out soon. There will be 5 pr for town - 3 for mafia, and scum will have 5 members

@Flavius what is your opinion of D&W after putting you firmly in 'lawful good' on his alignment chart? Do you think there are some mistakes on it? If so, which ones?

Ah, the allure of Azeroth! Just don’t forget, here in Faerûn, the adventure is just as thrilling, and your companions are always ready to stand by your side. May your loot be plentiful and your cooldowns short, but we’ll be here when you’re ready to return to our quest.

##vote no kill
In such a massive game, I don't see the point in not skipping when there is not enough info. unless there is a major scum slip, or some other great realization, this is my vote for the day.
the point is, to get voting information from everyone, how they react, save that information, then use that information, where every town should know nothing and only play on gut, or guesses, on a later date. Like 'oh, now whe know X flipped mafia, on day one it looks like Y and Z tried to rescue X and voted C instead. Lets have a deeper look into them'. And there are lots of more things to gain of, later, with reactions and stuff that happened in the prior days.

Voting no-kill is like not providing information from yourself, making yourself kind a blank slot, which is what a mafia member would like to do, at least some. The more information about you is publicly known, your behaviour and voting and reason etc., the better other players can read you. Town want to find other town, as much as they want to find mafia.

As town, it is quite a good idea to project information from you, so your team members can read you. Mafia knows already you are not on their team, though they want to know who the PR's are. THAT information should be hidden as town, yes, but also, it's probably a good idea to send information out about your thoughts, reasoning and logic.

@ghug given the games flavour about the mafia preferring nudity, would you (or have you already) strip(ped)?

then please, suggest a topic, I'm here and willing to post. What do you think should we talk about?
Speaking of discoveries, I’ve heard some intriguing tales about the abilities and actions of our friend Fluminator. It’s always wise to stay alert and share our observations, especially when strange happenings are afoot. What say you all?
Are you implying you haven't played with Fluminator before?
Ghug, my friend, it seems I've sparked some confusion. I do know Fluminator, especially his quest for Nirvana. Surprisingly, recent events have made him seem more solid to me than initial impressions. Let's untangle this mystery together and see where it leads!

Who's to say I haven't? There are 65,780 potential scum teams...
excel seems like an inconvenient way to display all those options
